Similar fashion with our assembly hall build. I was involved quite a bit and was not invited to the dedication. This was for all the dignitaries, CO, DO. The R&F had a open house of sorts, walk through, check it out and get out. Nepotism rules for sure always has.

Kingdom Hall Dedication this Saturday
by punkofnice inby invite only!.
my jw spy tells me that this is in st paul's road, peterborough.. as far as i can tell, he tells me some corporation bully boy is coming over from bethel.
so, the local jws have been tasked to clean it so it's fit for this visiting dignitary.. of course there are only a certain amount of invites available and nepotism rules.

Intro
by Exjwme inyou can all call me jess, i guess you can say i'm a "refugee" from jwr.
i'm going to try and keep this short for now, i'm in my early 20s, i was born in but never baptized, i've been mentally out for 7 years and fully out for about 5ish.
despite never having been baptized my fading took quite a bit of time and work.

JW Recovery just closed

Hi and welcome to this site.
Sorry about JWR abruptly closure, I can only imagine the time and resources required to run and maintain a site like this. The admin are people too who have been through a hole lot themselves, they also must navigate through this mess the best they can just because they have the technical capability to start up a recovery site does not mean they are recovered themselves. We need to remember their right to find peace and happiness and if distancing themselves from religion and all it entails, then that is their journey. Good luck to them
Hopefully many of you will stay a while and contribute on this forum, new one are always welcomes and new perspectives and ideas is what recovery is all about. So a big welcome to everyone.

Great advice from this community it shows we have all been there.
We’ve spent a life time rejecting ourselves and adopting another man’s vision. We have been told that every inclination of the heart is bad, that this world and all of its desire are satanic inspired and doomed. We have been groomed and programmed to find fault in everything even ourselves, we are but a worthless slave…. remember. We had to put on a new personality, a personality designed to accept anything they regurgitate. They broke our spirit so that we wouldn’t question anything…..look at all the new videos, mental manipulation at it best.
The military uses a similar tactic in boot camp to indoctrinate young minds…..they could never convince them to go to war and accept an order hinged on death without mental manipulation first. That’s what’s happened to us. Once a solder returns from combat to mediocrity its torture they can’t adjust to normal….PTS, most instances it takes professional help.
You have to reprogram your mind. The system has been corrupted, you need to wipe and do a new clean install of operating system.
System requirements:
· Breathing room for my mind and spirit.
· Trusting myself instead of doubting myself.
· Appreciating the good and beautiful in the world instead of always seeking out the evil and ugly.
· Laughing at whatever I find funny.
· Setting my own priorities.
· Never allowing anyone to tell me what to think, what to believe, what to enjoy, where to go, whom to associate
Then, stop obsessing over religion or god… leave it alone for a while you will know if and when you need to revisit it. Keep yourself busy with something you enjoy… maybe learn to play a guitar? or start a hobby who knows might lead to a business venture that you will find enjoyable. Give yourself to your kids….live through them, through their eyes. Volunteer in something you believe will better humanity even after you’re gone.
But for me the most important is: Listen for the sound of the genuine in yourself, your inner self, your inner voice it will tell you what to do. That is the voice they told you to reject, because that is the voice of reason, it’s the voice of logic the voice of self preservation, it’s the voice that must be shut off for the cults tactics to work. Listen to it, its who you are. If you listen you will find yourself.
Good luck

Think back what you remember and felt about apostates?
She goes to the meetings and all she hears is God will destroy those opposing him, God will kill his enemy's, Satan and his minions are toast. So we have become everything they despise, in essence she is sleeping with the enemy and your trying to destroy her faith.
She is pissed because you become too wise in your own eyes, you think you know more than God's himself. You are no longer the spiritual man she fell in love with, the spiritual man that will lead her family into the new world, that would be at her side to rebuild a perfect society and live in perfect harmony along side God. The father and husband that will help reunite the resurrected with those grieving, that will teach those new one the grander of your creator and his promises. The man that will hold her forever and together explore every desire of your heart.
This is what you have taken from her, this is the power of this Cult. This is what we are up against.

I have a plan....
by DATA-DOG inwith all of the bat-shit crazy propaganda of late, i'm considering talking to my wife about the cult.
we have had zero religious discussions for two years.
the last discussion ended with ,"you have no beliefs, no personal beliefs, because you change your "beliefs" when the wtbts writes an article.

"Wifey, you are going to hear some bat-shit crazy things at the RC. None of it will happen. The children who you see at the KH will all graduate High School in the next decade. We will bury our parents. The old ones at the KH will be gone. We will continue to get older, and then we are next to go. There's no overlapping generation and the "Evil Slave" in not hypothetical. ( I have to use the Bible angle for now.) Are you going to remember what I've just said in 10 - 20 years??"
Amen
