  Just invited to a zoom memorial.

  walked away from the trooth years ago(over 20) my older sister sends me an invite to the memorial via zoom.

  i have no interest in jwism at all.

  should i ignore or respond?.

  for personal reasons i would like to hear of any information related to previous co james (jim) cleary.

  initially served as an elder in marple and went on to serve as co in the north of england i believe .

  i was just wondering if there is any official rules on dealing with this.

  a sister in the congregation is planning to divorce her husband who is also a witness so she can marry a different brother in the same hall!

  yes this is a huge scandal!

  Elder ran off with CO, s wife here in the North East England, both dfd moved away married and reinstated a while later only for the ex elder to drop dead of a heart attack

  Anyone notice how only some JWs are on FB or social media

  i notice only about half the people i knew in the borg are on social media.

  Too much "accurate knowledge" on social media for jws, i have posted news articles re. child abuse, Australian Royal commission etc. on my social media only to be blocked off i think 7 "family" members so far! They can't handle the truth

  if the watchtower think that these are the end times why dont they employ all the people who used to work at bethel to go door to door or go on the cart full time.after all money is no good in paradise .

  The Jw,s in the town where i live stand daily outside of the bank , the same two or three individuals, and i have never once seen any members of the public engage in conversation with them , Hartlepool folk are too busy i guess !

  can anyone tell me when, and why jehovahs witnesses hold evening gala,s / ball with full tuxedo,s and evening gowns ?

  is it uk only as i have heard family throughout the uk attend these events (jw only) of course !.

  what is the purpose of these events and how long have the dubs being doing so ?

  As @just fine says, it's "just fun to get dressed up"

  I suppose they cannot wear them silly rags at the drama at the assemblies anymore so stepped it up with the tuxedo and evening gowns ?

  I am aware of witnesses holding these events in a few parts of the UK ....Just wondering if anyone else has heard of such events and what the purpose of them is ?

  Remember barn-dances/ country music events held in the 70,s have these events replaced them as a social gathering for witnesses ?
