  If Russell Were Alive Today He'd Be DF'd For

  i was just thinking that if charles taze russell were alive today he wouldn't even recognize the religion he started.

  in fact, many of the things he did are now disfellowshippable offenses.

  for instance, he had a christmas tree in the bethel home and he wore a beard.

  Gambling and JWs

  its says in a jw brochure(what does god require of us)that ephesian chater x verse x forbiddes gambling(the verse mentions greed).

  does the verse actually forbid gambling?.

  i think it was chapter 3 verse 5 or chapter 5 verse 3

  I think the reason why it was mentioned in the NT about the casting of lots over the clothing was due to the prophesy in the OT. I don't think it was a means to condemn gambling.

  I personally don't know of any scripture that condemns gambling. If someone does let me know...
