  District Assemblies now being held at Circuit Assembly locations?

  i haven't been to a kh in decades, so i get the google alerts for jws and i got one featuring a local news channel in brooklyn covering the assembly being held in flatbush, brooklyn.

  i'm sure that venue is where the circuit assemblies are usually held, keeping in mind it's summer and that's when the district assemblies are being held.

  why are they acting like they're so strapped for cash and now holding district assemblies in circuit assemblies locations ?.

  I mean, really, it has been “tending down” for a long time depending on who you ask. I’ll believe it when I see it.

  I’ve been around for a long time. In 97 when the internet went mainstream, I remember specific predictions of a near future collapse. In 2002, after the child abuse issue hit mainstream media, it was only a “matter of when” it would collapse.

  In 2012, the Conti lawsuit was the death-kneel.

  External forces have never brought down a religion the size of jws. Apathy will. I don’t see apathy at all.

  why are they acting like they're so strapped for cash and now holding district assemblies in circuit assemblies locations ?.

  WT takes the growth wherever it comes from. They send people to under and undeveloped places.

  WT is really not that concerned about growth as far as pure numbers — as you know, there are much more than 8.5 million baptized jws. I put the number at about 18 million if you count “inactive” non-df/da members.

  But they don’t count them as members.

  So? Growth is growth. You worry when you start seeing membership reversals as a whole.

  Two percent of 8.5 million is 170k. Not such a small number when it’s converted.

  Do KHs lock their doors when meeting starts now?

  my still in wife informed me this morning that she must be on time to the meeting as they are locking the door when it starts now.. i said that's crazy.

  she said it's because of the times we are living in.. we live in a rural area and crime isn't terrible though it's worse than it used to be.. i told her if that's the way it is then why bother leaving the house at all?.

  she said they are just trying to be safe.. is this a thing now?

  There is an article I was reading yesterday. A newspaper in the UK if o recall.

  At any rate, it said a lot of people left after 1975, and it said, and I quote: “it has been declining ever since”.

  There were about 1 million jws in 1975. Help me with my apparently bad math. How can a religion in decline since 1975, go from 1 million members that year, to 8.5 million 43 years later?

  hi guys, long time without paying a visit to this site.

  today i returned to check a 'gossip' that is running around in brazilian exjw forums.. they are stating that is almost certain they will make a big change in their doctrine maybe this year yet in the annual meeting.

  they say people in warwick were commenting on this.

  I do agree with that. Pictures from select locations showing “full” or “empty” halls and assemblies have holes in them so large that you can drive a monster truck through.
