Omg. I remember it well.
My dad used to have to complete the figures on the board from the record cards/reports. I spent many a childhood Saturday afternoon gluing the back of the red and black squares to pass to him to stick on the big wooden board. What fun! when all my school chums were out kicking footballs and enjoying the day I was on my knees on the lino of our rented hall gluing tiny squares of paper.

There was a TV documentary about the LDS church in the UK a while ago.
What struck me as interesting was the amount of proselytising that the young missionaries are encouraged to do via social media platforms like Facebook (they actually have to report meeting weekly targets).

How does God communicate with Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Vanderhoven7 ingilles gray writes:.
the short answer is, god communicates with jehovah’s witnesses very poorly indeed.. jehovah’s witnesses are the first to affirm that god doesn’t directly communicate with them at all.. however, this fact doesn’t stop them from making the baseless assertion that god communicates to them through reading the bible, through holy spirit and through their leaders (known as the governing body, or the faithful and discreet slave).. here is a claim made by one of the first leaders of the watchtower organisation:-.
communication through reading the bible.

Every religion claims to be doing what God has asked for them to do.
How does the church of England hierarchy communicate with God? the church of Rome? the Baha'i community? all of them... there's a gap between the people at the top and God. How does the divine spark jump the gap between God and that religion?

I think the org is a dysfunctional family where people call each other brother and sister but are not equals, so when I saw this at my therapist's office I thought it was appropriate to the way courts can't get a straight answer from WT.

Watchtower (Study) August 2023 gaslighting and deflecting again.
by was a new boy in'they turn the story around to make it seem like you are at fault, deflecting attention and blame away from them to make you feel guilty.
this type of emotional manipulation is called gaslighting.. .
deflection is manipulation, and if it's coupled with other toxic relationship behaviors, it may be necessary to remove yourself from the situation.'.

Putting things off until the New World arrives.
I still hear ones I grew up with in the congregation who were older than me by a couple of decades saying "I will learn to play the guitar and the piano in the NW." "I can't wait to learn to paint in the NW."
And I keep wanting to scream at them, "FFS what is/was stopping you from doing it now!?"
Of course, their answer would be"Now is the time for us to store up our treasure in heaven."
Makes me want to 🤮🤮

Can I ask please if you are writing a book and using this forum as a testing platform?
It's simply the length of all of your answers and where you have opened posts with questions that resemble university essays.
I have to be honest, I lose interest in reading most of them halfway through as they just go on and on and on.
When I was in the JW organisation I found that was the way the elders tried to force through a contentious belief by swamping students with a tidal wave of references and so-called proof points. I guess it might have worked for some of the newbies, but I just switched off, and turned my attention elsewhere.

The witnesses used to ridicule the church services for their scripted parroting, such as Priest: "The Lord be with you", Congregation: "And with you also."
But when you reflect on the content of any WT or book study they are parroting in a similar manner. True the person answering might put it into their own words but the answer won't deviate from what is printed in the paragraph. Elder reads out printed question, congregant responds with printed answer.
