Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave? The recent changes and the Governing Body's 10 year plan

i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.

the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.

i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.

If a married person is involved, they must receive permission from their spouse and then respect their mate's decision if they refuse to permit it, otherwise a judicial committee will be formed and repeated attempts will be made to help that one gain "repentance".

This right here is what makes me believe this list is false. Mainstream conservative Christian denominations view pre-marital sex as a sin. There is no way in the world that the JWs will label sex outside of marriage a “conscience matter.” The added part about “a married person must receive permission from their spouse and then respect their mate’s decision if they refuse to permit it” is a dead giveaway that this is not a real list of upcoming changes to JW doctrine.

it’s been a long time since i’ve kept up with anything jw-related.

but just a couple days ago, i heard about all the new changes—beards, shunning, etc.

i was surprised, so i asked an old friend who i hadn’t spoken to in ages what happened.

We know that he is no longer on the GB, and that it appears the WTS set him up with a home in North Carolina.

Yes, apparently they found a way to get rid of him, gave him a nice place to retire and some hush money. He signed some non-discloser agreements so we won’t be hearing anything more from him.

It’s been a long time since I’ve kept up with anything JW-related. But just a couple days ago, I heard about all the new changes—beards, shunning, etc. I was surprised, so I asked an old friend who I hadn’t spoken to in ages what happened.

He told me that Anthony Morris was removed from the GB. He said that Morris was a hardliner who had pretty much taken control of the entire organization for years. And that the GB had been wanting to make changes for many years, but old Tony would veto them at every turn.

But recently, the rest of the GB conspired against Tony and performed a coup. My friend said that just before Morris was removed, he had announced to everyone that “the Governing Body is coming under Satan’s control” and said something about them becoming the “Evil Slave.”

Is there any truth to this? Or is this just exaggerated by the telephone game? What happened to ol’ Tight-Pants Tony?

Supreme Court Decision on Free Speech this week

this week's first amendment case has a slant that may sound familiar to jws.

most are aware that the wt won a number of supreme court decisions in the '40s related to free speech (the first amendment of the us constitution).

in particular, the flag salute case in '39, which they lost, tried to argue that not saluting the flag was a religious issue.

The decision was not about the sexual orientation or race of the customer. It was about the message expressed. The State cannot compel a person to create a message through their work that they oppose. That is a violation of the First Amendment right to free speech. It has nothing to do with the person, but everything to do with the speech.

this is going to be very brief but a user recently tried to argue an argument that has already been refuted many times - the logic is somewhat sound but falls apart when the definition to the word used it looked and its usages in the bible.the word in question is "aionas" found in the scripture in question hebrews 1:2 .

I’m not sure exactly what you’re trying to argue here.

According to the standard big bang model of cosmology, TIME began together with the universe in a singularity approximately 14 billion years ago.

The Bible clearly states that Jesus created everything.

”All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:3)

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” (Colossians 1:16)

If time itself began with the singularity event, it stands to reason that the creator of both time and space would have to be outside of—and unbound by—not only space, but also time.

the threat against religion that becomes pivotal will come from lgbtq politicians forcing through " hate crime" bills aimed at religions.

I don’t understand how so many ex-Witnesses can leave the Jehovah’s Witnesses, but at the same time still believe in their theology. If you still believe the stuff the teach, why aren’t you a Witness?

I know it’s hard to believe you were in a cult. But Jesus is God. You can only be saved by grace through faith—not works. Babylon the Great is not the “world empire of false religion,” and the UN is not going to outlaw religion.

You are not going to “live forever in paradise on earth.” If you believe you will never die, you are believing the first lie the Devil told in the Garden. You are going to die. You cannot earn everlasting life by “following Jehovah’s rules.” The only thing that can save you is Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift.

Badfish and other evangelizing Christians, I notice you speak of God's standards and or them being perfect. But, God, the biblical God, never told me his standards. No god ever told me his/her/its/their standards. Instead of the God telling me his standards it is only humans speaking or writing in the name of a god (or gods) telling me the alleged standards of an alleged god (or gods). The Bible is not the word of the God. If there is a god who has standards for humans, that god should communicate it directly to all humans, so that there is no confusion as to what his/her/its/their standards are. Instead we have may humans and many religions promoting conflicting competing standards in the name of one or more alleged gods/spirits. Some religions, such as the JW religion, even have changed some of their standards (standards which they say are the standards of God) over time.

God has shown it to you, but you have suppressed the truth.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. If God is calling you, you will recognize his voice. Your statements above seem to imply that you want him to speak to you on your own terms. But God speaks to his people on his terms, and his elect recognize his voice, and they listen.

The standard of what is good and evil as defined by God in the Bible?

As I said above:

If we all evolved arbitrarily from a primordial soup with no purpose or design, how is this evil as you say? How can you say God is evil when you deny the Bible, the very book that defines “evil?” Even further, in your atheistic, materialistic, and evolutionary worldview, such things are neither right nor wrong because there is no God in your view to establish what is right or wrong. Do you not profess to believe in a naturalistic view where animals rape, murder, and eat their own kind? Yet you attack the loving God of the Bible and try to call him evil?

The intent of many of those who make claims like this is to make a good God look evil in order to justify their rejection of him, his word, or even his existence. But if God really doesn’t exist and the Bible isn’t his word, then those who attack God and his word by calling him harsh and evil shouldn’t even care to attack him. By attacking him, they show that they know he exists and are simply suppressing that knowledge (see Romans 1:20–25).
