...did you also toss your Faith as well?
I don't know. I was born into a strict JW family and never got baptized. Once I grew up, I realized that it was a cult. Did I ever have faith? I don't know.

i first noticed it today... slides up at the bottom.
i wonder why they felt the need to do this?
this is just silly for a religious website..
You obviously haven't read the Bible. The Christian Greek Scriptures™ as well as numerous prophecies about JW.org™ in the Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures™ clearly state that Jehovah doesn't allow anyone to quote from His official website on any other websites, or else His Holy Spirit™ will move His Earthly Organization™ to sue you.
The Bible evidence is overwhelming when it comes to proving the date January 23, 2008 - the holy date in which Jehovah's website would be launched. If we start with the date when JW.org was first registered, November 28, 1999, we come up with 2989 days between the site being registered and the launch date of the website, which is pretty darn close to 2520. Evidently, this proves that Jehovah's Spirit ™ is moving upon His website and its web designers. Does this not move you to contribute to the worldwide work currently being done on the earth today? All major credit cards accepted.
i am compelled to write a bit about this at this late hour here in the us, because it is keeping me up.. the recent four year old thread on the briggs myers personality type test that was dug up, produced an interesting finding.
many here, (at least tested informally for), the intj personality type.
intjs also do not understand irrational behavior particularly well at all.. why does this matter?
Ever since taking the test for the first time in college 8 years ago, I've always tested as an INTP.
i am drinking a japanese beer called kirin ichiban right now exploring the wonderful threads of the past here on jwn.
i love this forum so much.. how many here enjoy an adult beverage while browsing jwn?
i love all of you guys :).
I usually drink too much and post things I forget about until much later. Then I go back and read them and kick myself in the face.
in case anyone plays it i started a clan called apostateparadiz.. hit me up if you want to join.
if not don't.. .
m..
I play Clash of Clans but I'm in a high level clan right now. Update this if you get more members and I'll join you :)
as i grew up in the religion, i was a 10. i wanted to be made a "servant" because that was instilled in me from infancy.
i diligently studied ever piece of watchtower literature and defended my religion intensely.. when i got into my 30's, i started to see little cracks in the watchtower's surface but decided to "wait on jehovah".
then i started to research a little more critically and realized i couldn't defend the prophecies, the treatment of people and the hypocrisy that was becoming more obvious, that especially an elder can see.. it was a gradual thing---from a 10 to a zero!.
Maybe 2 or 3. I was a born-in, but never got baptized. The indroctrination from birth slowly faded the older I got.
if one reads genesis from the first chapter through the end with an open mind, it is clear that not only is it not true, but that god is potrayed as a cruel, petty, childish micromanaging tyrant.
if one continues reading the ot this is just further solidified.
how do jws not see the obvious?
Treat others as you would be treated " is the first gem, and most powerful IMO.
" Love your neighbor as yourself " is the second.
And yet he placed this as the second greatest commandment.
Consider your statement:
Christians might claim they worship Jesus, not Yahweh. Perhaps they do, but why do they worship someone who clearly did not seek the peoples worship, nor wanted to be anyones leader? It is clear Jesus wanted one thing: not worship, but for the people to emulate his behavior, to be LIKE him, not to think him a god and beg him for free stuff. That's the OLD way, which he came to uproot. He called us his friends and siblings, NOT his minions and serfs.
His actual greatest commandment was:
"You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind."
If YHWH was really a devil pretending to be God, why didn't Jesus just come out and say "Yahweh was a false God. Instead, you must love Yaldabaoth with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind"?
if one reads genesis from the first chapter through the end with an open mind, it is clear that not only is it not true, but that god is potrayed as a cruel, petty, childish micromanaging tyrant.
if one continues reading the ot this is just further solidified.

If the god of the Old Testament was Satan, why did Jesus quote from the Old Testament 84 times?

By what rationale does one conclude that YHWH is a false god and Christ is true, when both are central characters in a book you just described as containing information propagated by a charlatan deity?
Not to to mention all the OT scriptures prophesying about the coming messiah, as well as Jesus quoting from OT scriptures.
wtbts published a new article on jw.org (http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/daniel-4-bible-chronology-1914/) entitled "what does bible chronology indicate about the year 1914?
" in it, it points to daniel 4 as the prophecy and uses the same leaps of insane logic to get from the first and only fulfillment of that prophecy to 1914, using 607 as the starting point and 2,520 years as doubling the 1,260 years in revelation.
of course, there is no accounting for the difference in our solar years and the bible's lunar years, which makes the math have a very different outcome.
Isn't 1878 a date they used to say the 'invisible presence' of Jesus started?
If you take the difference between the Gregorian calendar and the 360 day prophetic years (365.2425 - 360) you get 5.2425
Now, multiply 2520 x 5.2425 = 13211.1 days.
Divide 13211.1 / 365.2425 = 36 years.
1914 - 36 = 1878
Were they using the 360-day years to come up with 1878 before, and then changed it later to 1914?
