  after the daniel book came out, nothing has ben said about it in at least 10 years.

  did that prohecy get thrown out the window when the soviet union fell?.

  Depends on how you view Daniel and the rest of the Bible. Three options to choose from:

  1) If you view the book of Daniel as an imperfect history book, produced by a misguided Jew, then it's a joke. You can safely ignore it.

  2) If you are interested in apocalypticism and view the writer(s) of the book of Daniel to have been sincere, perhaps producing the book as a teaching aid, then you should study the book to get behind the psychology of the writer(s) and compare the writing in it with similar apocalyptic writings.

  3) If you view Daniel or parts of it as being divinely inspired, even though having indergone a drastic editing process and multiple revisions, then it would be worth your while studying the book.

  I personally believe the book, or parts of it, to have been written by a Jewish exile, called Daniel. The majority of it contains prophecy and is definitely worth my while to study.

  hi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.

  i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.

  for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

  Why is France fighting in the middle of Africa?

  seriously i have no idea what is going on or why.

  because of my situation at home i have not been watching the news for the past two months or so.

  but i keep catching glimpses about some sort of french war in africa.

  Are we on the brink of another world war?

  i don't want to be an alarmist or anything... .

  but i read this article in the economist today that argued it is only a matter of time until china and japan exchange shots over some small islands in between the two countries, it could escalate to full scale war, and the united states is treaty bound to come to aid of japan.

  on top of that the united states is making diplomatic visits to various countries borderning china in a move that is viewed extremely negatively in beijing.

  Why are the Chinese surging ahead? I watched a documentary on how they bid for a project, e.g., a mine in Africa. Western companies bid for the development of the mine and surroundings. They expect the state to provide road and rail links, and a harbor to export the finished product. The Chinese value commodities and bid for the total package. They will develop the road, rail and harbor facilities. I goes without saying why the tender will be awarded to the Chinese company? If Western countries do not change their (colonial) business techniques they will lose out.

  but i read this article in the economist today that argued it is only a matter of time until china and japan exchange shots over some small islands in between the two countries, it could escalate to full scale war, and the united states is treaty bound to come to aid of japan.

  on top of that the united states is making diplomatic visits to various countries borderning china in a move that is viewed extremely negatively in beijing.

  I have no honor

  it occured to me on my way to work this morning that the concept of honor is rather silly at best, and more often quite dangerous if you really believe you have it.. think about it, what good is honor supposed to do?.

  right of the bat we can all name a number of really stupid things which are associated with honor: honor killings, for instance, where a member of the family is murdered for insulting the families honor (you wonder how the honor ever actually tells people it has been offended), or duels which was a sport between aristocrats.

  then there is the honor of dead people which can linger on for centuries, a certain prophet comes to mind, and it seems even dead objects like flags, banners, documents or nations can have honor which can be invoked to kill or maim others.. what are the legitimate invocation of honor as a reason to act a certain way?

  I prefer the word "respect," which carries more weight. The meaning of honor changes amongst peoples and cultures. Respect should stay the same.

  There will be war, but not in the normal sense of the word. New terminology: Economic (and currency) warfare, which has already begun. In the New World, money talks. China (and the Far East) has the upper hand because of economy and mentality. Russia has an advantage because of its energy reserves. The UK and Europe are already feeling the pinch = double and triple dip recession. How will the US fare in the "battle"? Their economy is twice as big as China, but shrinking. If they do not adapt, they will go the same way as Europe, which is downhill fast.

  Welcome Msconcerned, do yourself a favor and read Matt. 24:45-47. Now carry on reading (vs.48-50). Granted it is a hypothetical question, but it is very relevant. Jesus would not have mentioned it otherwise (see also Luk. 12:41-48). Now ask yourself: When are they going to be appointed over the domestics? Their job is to feed, not to judge. Ony afterwards will they be allowed to judge (if they are found to be faithful). Paul asks the question: YOU men already have YOUR fill, do YOU? YOU are rich already, are YOU? YOU have begun ruling as kings without us, have YOU? And I wish indeed that YOU had begun ruling as kings, that we also might rule with YOU as kings. (1 Co 4:8 NWT). There's some food for thought.

  i'm a new member & i'd like to say hi to everyone, intoducing myself.. i am a 3rd generation born-in at mid 50's & an active elder.. english is not my mother language, so pls ignore any grammatical errors.

  i live in a small country in europe.. i'd like to thank you for all information posted.

  some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..
