  i wish that i am still at the gated community where i lived there for more than 6 years, i received zero jw garbage!

  I love the way they quote the Scripture about "the whole world being under the control of the wicked one [Satan]" and then add, "except for us".
  

  Have they read Daniel chapter 4? It says that God rules. It makes me wonder who is their God.

  First exchange in years about JW religion with my wife...

  today my wife showed me the new medical directive and power of attorney form she got at the meeting.

  surprisingly she asked if i wanted to fill mine!

  i have been inactive for 6 years and i don't go close to any jw gatherings because i don't want friends who only care for me unless i share their beliefs.

  bible-believing christians appreciate the moral values of jehovah’s witnesses in their communities but have several questions that somehow seem to escape us when we are caught unexpectedly at our doors.

  Thanks for this, Perry. I am always looking for questions to ask the JW's who come to my door.

  I also have a question:

  Jesus said that we were to take the bread and wine in memory of him until he returns.

  If he returned in 1914, then why do some JW's still take the bread and wine now?

  If he did not return, then when and how will he return to stop the need for remembering?

  Where do they get all this from anyway?

  Armageddon means 'the mount of Megiddo', and is a place in Israel.

  It is only mentioned once in the Bible, and in Revelation.. which is a very strange book.

  The rulers of the earth are gathered together there for the battle, then there are plagues and a lot of hail.

  Where do they get the idea that there will be a lot of people lying around dead all over the world?

  Latest religious lunacy... Suicide by Lion

  yesterday, here in santiago, chile, some stupid ***** yerk tried to kill himself by entering naked to the lions cage in broad day light and while the zoo was filled with people!...

  sad part is the zoo personnel had to shoot dead the lions (male and female, 22 years old)... because waiting for the tranquilizers to take effect would be the sarah of the man.... at first everyone thought it was a suicide attempt, but later they found in his garments some kind of letter stating that armageddon had come and that he is daniel the prophet and god would save him... and he signed the letter as "jesus christ".

  Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?

  i've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.

  anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?

  i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

  I think fear of 'demons' and 'things that go bump in the night' has to do with the active imagination of a child, which most of us eventually grow out of.

  As a little child I was terrified of flushing the toilet at night as it makes such a noise and I thought that some unknown 'thing' would hear and get me. I felt I was safe in bed, so if I did flush I would run and jump into bed as quickly as I could. I didn't know what the 'thing' was and grew out of it eventually.

  I also was afraid that daleks would get me and combatted this fear by realising that they move around on wheels and so could not get up stairs. Once again, I was safe in bed!

  I don't think it would be any different. People would still find a reason to hurt others.

  A religion that believed in kindness and honesty would be a lot better.

  during co visit, i took him for a bible study i was conducting.

  during the session, the householder said he believed satan was not a person, but personification of evil within us.

  i left co to handle householder’s doubt.

  It would be very unfair of God to blame mankind for all the evil in the world if it were caused by a superhuman entity to whom God had given the power.

  Also, why did Jesus compare himself with the serpent on the pole?

  watchtower puts forth the argument that you can't really know god unless you know and use the appellation "jehovah" or its equivalent in other languages.

  is this really true?

  i say it's not true and i will demonstrate to you why.. god's name is not a mere label that we have to use to communicate with him so that he knows we're talking to him.
