The caffeine addiction

some people are "morning people", some people are "night people" and some people just smile in both the night and the day to annoy me.

i am what you would call "not a morning person" and thus i like to drink coffee.

mocha's have always been my taste of choice and thus i own my own little espresso machine and make myself espresso mocha's a lot to make this "night person" a little more alive in the mornings of life.

once when i was 17 i was openly talking with a sis at the public talk. I was bored and we were just having girltalk but i guess we got too loud, and the speaker stopped his talk and corrected us from the platform. (it was a small cong and half of us were related)

Once years ago at a weekend assembly, i had a can of soda .During the talk i decided i wanted to drink it so i popped the top and it spewed all over the palce. the assembly speaker actually stopped and looked at me. (just lucky i guess)

i once got counseled for leaving pampers in the ladies bathroom(may have deserved that one)i was 17

What are u doing at his site? I am a third generation jw and have been inactive for a long time. I know why i'm here. but if u are active and truly belive what the WTBS teachs, why would u visit this site? I know very well the society says not to argue with apostates, or get involved with the chat rooms and discussion boards. u are violating their policy. BTW-u should get in there and wash the dishes yourself.

The Elder That Wanted To Disfellowship The Dead

i mentioned about the elder that masturbated in another post.

this same man at the elder's school, felt that the appropriate course to take against a person that committed suicide was to disfellowship him.

when he was questioned about the reason, he felt that the person, no doubt, committed a sin against the spirit.

Actually a long time ago-, an elder in the small cong we were at was trying to get a man D/f after death. The man met an untimely death and there was some circumstantial evidence that he'd been in company of homosexuauls and drug dealers. he mande it very clear if they could prove it , they certainly could D/f him. in the end, nothing happened. It was dropped-the man was related to PO.

Repressed Memories.

some years ago, i visited a hypnotist in an effort to stop chewing my nails.

the habit had become so ingrained that i didn't even know when i was doing it.

well, i was a wiliing patient, and the lady hypnotist led me down into a beautiful imaginery garden, filled with flowers and birds where i could be at peace.

From my own personal experience, i would have probably remembered my abuse fully a lot quicker, but fear of my father stopped it. When my father was dying, and i felt safe, i was able to talk about it. I was already in therapy and i took it to my doc and told him. he listened , and basicqlly helped me feel safe enough to tell him what had happened. For years, this memory was sort of floating aorund in my mind, but i would not let myself remember it out of fear. Years after my father died, i still feared he might come back and hurt me for telling., even though i logically knew he could not do that.

My doc never proded for other memories. he let me tell him. I am very grateful for this kind man, his skill and ability to help me feel safe enough to say things out loud.

BTW, i remember the society article on repressed memories. I felt then it was an attempt to protect men, not to ruin someones life. Children and women have been so degraded. Only a man's word is worth anything.

I do not agree that a person would always remember trauma. I forced myself not to remember out of fear. the memory was there but i would not allow mydelf to access it due to fear of saying it outloud.

info on bipolar

wanted to drop in and say hello.

i was recently given the diagnosis of bipolar after an almost successful suicide attempt.

i am getting ready to press charges against my stepdad for sexual abuse when i was younger.

The elders are a lot more educated in most areas about mental illness now than they used to be. They still don't like people to see psychologists, but are generally ok with meds.Personally i see a psychologist because it helps me.

I too am sorry u have to deal with this. it is very important that u take your meds and continue seeing your doctor. A lot of people wih bipolar won't take their meds and end up with needless setbacks There are so many options now as far as meds. Read whatever u can about the disorder. Look it up on the internet. There are chat rooms and mailing lists for persons with this disrder. The internet is a wondrful thing-whatever problems u have-u can generally find a suport group for it.

Having been in therapy for a number of years, i can say from my personal experience that probably one can get some repressed memories that are accurate and some that are not. to illustrate, my paretns used to tell me a story about something i had done around age 2-3. eventually, i could see the event in my minds eye and it became so real for me-i thought i had actually remembered it. My mom heard me tell the story one time and cleared it all up for me. I had been told this for so long-i just knew i remembered it. I actulallly did not.

Early in my therapy I had been telling my doc about my father and this picture i could not get out of my head. He used no hynosis-i just remembered it. What i remembered was my father telling me I'd forget this. With the help of my doc i was able to connect feelings and that picture i had in my mind with the event. He never proded or suggested. That memory and pictue had been with me for a long time and it eventually surfaced. It surfaced when my father was dying and i felt safe enough to remember it.

Abut 10-12 years ago there was a big expolison of multiple personality disorder and a phd in our area that treated it. I knew someone that went to his hospital and she came back certain she had been satanically abused. It took her years of therapy to rid herself of this idea. There was even joke in the medical community that if u did not have MPD when u went in-he's make sure u had it before u left. Everyone that went to his hosptal was dx with MPD.With that said-i do beleive MPD exists.

The human mind is a delicate thing. Memory can be altered .I persnonally am very wary of anything that is not mainstream becasuse much of it can depend on whether u believe it or not. I had a sister try and sell me on vitamins and herbal therapy with ememas and all sort of things. She Told me i must beleive that it will help me or it wont'. So much for that.

My doc a phd , never tried to insist i remember anythng. he has been a Godsend and i will always be grateful to him. he saved my life.
