  i swear to god i feel like a friggin tard right now!!

  i have so much crap piled on that i feel like i'm starting to crack, and honestly, as i'm sure many other silentlambs can relate to, i start to get incredibly angry that not only do i have to deal with this sh*t at all, but also that despite my best efforts, conscious efforts, to overcome things, to heal and to move on with a healthy life, i still have times where i feel like it just breaks me.

  this is Bette midler singing "the rose" . the person who did this video has made it in tribute to Janis Joplin.

  It has some great pics, some I've never seen.

  I started my search looking for "fire down below" from the move "the rose". i can't seem to find that clip, it's so great, got to love Bob Segar

  I was always a fan of Janis, back when i was singing her "oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" .i recall getting told that was an irreverent song by a superfine jws.

  I think the song i like best from Janis is "piece of my heart" with "Bobbie McGee " in there too.

  ok, i willl start by writing that this is where i lived growing up.

  i cannot possibly capture the ugliness of it all and i realize it.

  this public housing is going to be torn down.

  I once (at about age 5) lived in a trailor park that was used mostly for migrant workers in fruit picking season. The trailors had no bathrooms ( they didn't used to ) and the bath house was in the center of the park and we had to all use it. Recall seeing some scorpions and creepy stuff in there. The trailor was so small that we were all in one room basically. More like a very tiny travel trailor today. I once went outside for #1 and sat on a bed of fire ants. ouch.

  my hubby and i have lived in some" interesting "places over the years.

  I spent most of my life trying in vain to get approval from a group of unloving judgmental people. People who if i stood on my head and walked backward would not have accepted me.

  my doc told me that you must accept that not everyone will approve of you and that is OK. I heard him but it took several years for it to sink in. I didn't really understand that he meant what he said- not everyone will like you. and that can mean losing people we had hoped would approve.

  I could never gain jws approval and to gain some others I'd have to be someone I'm totally not. Character is always the most valued thing.

  Probably you have a destiny to fulfill deki, and perhaps in doing that you will find a counter- part.

  you are beautiful.

  Charlie brown always wanted everyone to like him. But we cannot have everyone's approval- nor do we need it. Character is what is to be valued, and character can be found anywhere, from the ghetto to the wealthiest place.

  You are not that ghetto, you are deki.

  I have been told all my life that what does not kill us makes us stronger. I used to think that was a convenient way of saying " glad I'm not you". but really, its not. It took some age and suffering to realize that.

  You are not the house or apartment you live in- you are deki a real person who against all odds has survived and flourished.

  we know they fix scientific data to meet the needs of the special interest groups who make up their constituency.

  but did you know the bush team, lead by carl rove, fixed it so a governor would go to jail?...

  I have 0 interest in Bush or Bill Clinton or Karl Rove. I don't think 60 minutes has all that much credibility anymore- so what they say does not impress me.

  I was all jazzed up during the 00, 04 elections but , not now. I 'll probably vote for McCain just so it is a vote against Hilary.
