yes, "deliberately vague enough", they like quoting so why dont they quote the "UN published criteria"

Look for a passage in which he criticizes himself, because I doubt you'll find one. Then he blasts the Governing Body for never admitting their mistakes.
I doubt he will NOT find one. Actually i am sure he will find at least one or two "passage" where Raymond Franz does "criticizes himself ". sorry i dont have the booi with me right now to quote it.
To be fair his conclusion is that he, GB members and all jw were/are "VICTIM OF VICTIMS",
i beleive that. those who teached my family the "truth" were doing sincerely, beleiving what in turn was teached to them previously. Think about your case... or anyone here about the persons who teached you the jw religion.
BUT no-one is withot blame, the book says. In my own words, those who accepted the jw religion did not do their "Home Work" (trade mark of Whoknowwhom) before joining, but swalloed the 'hook' and everything else....
yet rather harshly states that his uncle's decades of service will mean nothing to God when he faces judgement. That's blatant hypocrisy
If he say that: "nothing"... he not too far from logic. What will "mean" "decades of service" when after confronted with facts and reality the person continues (as done for "decades") to teach what has been proven false?
'talking like that about his uncle , I find being honest rather than "hypocrisy", he mentioned his uncle several times confirming that his uncle was the "oracle", the one reponsible for all major rules and teachings, including 1975 , not an small thing by the way. IMO his uncle was afraid and jelous... Freddy got used to get "kissed" by every other member of the GB, even Knorr (president for decades) was reluctant to go against his opinions, the whole WT depended on Freddy for doctrines and bible interpretations.
But now a honest man, as smart as his uncle, was capable and had the guts to speak out and make sense out of all those doctrines.

1919 Cleansing
by IP_SEC inok, according to the rigcah, patdp, and ipalfam i and ii the jewish restoration prophecy fulfilled in 537 bc has an antitype in 1919 ad when the wt officers were released from prison.
this is obviously a central teaching of the slave.
they say they were exonerated of all the charges that caused them to go to prison, and because of their faith they were accepted as the slave at that time.

Nazis?, no, they went to jail around 1918, as far i remember it had to do with a book the WT published around that time which the usa authorities considered a sedicious publication. Eight (8) WT officials were found guilty, convicted, went to jail, locked for abut 9 month, the WT continued to fight the case in courts and the the WWI ended and they got out of jail.
BUT they had to remove, i dont remember how many, pages from the book, i dont remember the title of the book either.
THAT precedent is what got me thinking about the NGO/UN asociation and the fact that the WT has not continued showing pictures about the beast in Revelation as representing the USA BRITAIN the UN etc.
The Iraq wars (seen by islamic as holy wars, the mother of all wars etc) and other wars have a key religious element, all of that and more could have placed the WT under the 'sedition radar'.

'Who Wrote the Bible' - terrific book!

this guy is a really respected scholar, not some crackpot-prediction-making jackass.
as a typical jw, i didn't know much about how absurd the idea of moses writing the first five books of the bible really is.

On page 55 in James Penton's book Apocolypse Delayed he mentions that the WT leaders were convicted of sedition under the American Espionage Act. Seven (including Rutherford) were sentenced to 20 years and one other was sentenced to 10 years. FairMind
"exonerated", "dropped" or "no guilty"?, there is a differece...
"Sedition the federal crime of advocacy of uprising or overthrow against the government or support for an enemy of the nation during time of war, by speeches, publications and organization."
The WT badmouthing about the usa, other nations and the UN, could be considered sedition under some circunstances, GULF WAR etc
BTw around the 'gulf war was when they became associate to the UN and stopped badmouthing and talking abouth seven headed beasts etc
can you connect the dots... ? the more i think about it the more i beleive the WT wa forced to stop comparing nations and the UN to beast.

didn't the Catholic church compiled the "bible" the "Canon".
