  Why are letters from John and Paul included in the Bible?

  i don't see much difference between paul writing a letter to the corinthian congregation and the gb writing a letter to the timbucktoo congregation.. is what paul wrote to the ephesians just as fallible and subject to 'new light' as the letters the wts writes to congregations today?.

  if a letter from the governing body today which says it's immoral to have an organ transplant can be dead wrong and changed later.

  can the letter from paul which says it's wrong to eat blood be dead wrong and subject to change later?.

  Excellent question Lore. There were a LOT of early Christian letters NOT included. A lot of groups have "Red Line Bibles". These Bibles underline JESUS actual quotes in Red. The Jews seperated writtings, Talmud etc.

  i have been reading countless heartbreaking accounts on this site of children of jehovah's witnesses being "disfellowshipped" and shunned by entire families, their congregations, basicly everyone they have ever known for simply questioning their parent's religion!!.

  some have been tossed out of family homes to live in cars!!!

  I repectfully disagree,

  I have read a number of stories on this site. I the Circuit where I live I know of a number of 15-17 year old children disfellowshipped. Some 15 year old girls were Disfellowshipped and so distraught they ran away and became "at risk". So you think it OK then to disfellowship children for "Smoking" then?

  Hummm... Guess the heading "Jehovah's Witnesses" showed up on Google Alerts....say Hi to M.C. at the service desk...

  Scenic Viewer: "3 bears", slang by U.S. JW kids for Judicial Commitee comprised of 3 ELDERS. Harps back to the Childrens story :Goldilocks and the three bears "Who has been..."

  Judicial commitee = Three Elders who investigate "Serious moral sin". They are supposed to be chosen by the entire body of elders AFTER at least 2 Elders have determined through an investigation a serious "Sin" actually occured. In my opinion..this arrangement has gotten completely out of control and is now being used to Disfellowship (shun) anyone who even questions or disagrees with the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society over minor issues or doctrine. The sin is "Apostacy" or "Causing Divisions" or "Rebellion" when people tell them they are full of S...... Becomming a lot like 1930s Nazi Germany.

  Wow, I can understand how you feel. We had a serial pedophile move in our area who WTBTS had swept under the carpet in the past. "Holy Sprit" had appointed him a servant in another Congregation already! A sister from his old area just happed across him and told me. I told the Circuit overseer- he told me it had been "Handled". WHAAAAAAT??? So I wrote a personal letter to a Governing Body member I knew and had it hand delivered by a friend. STONEWALLED!! Screw it..I just walked into the State Police spoke to the sex crimes guys and laid it all out for them. Never felt better.

  This is a Worlwide board, but I thought some excerpts I googled on current California CRIMINAL law would be interesting. I think if enough people simply start informing on the JWs to the Schools, Child Protective Services and 911 the barbaric practice will have a light shone on it.

  PENAL CODE (California)SECTION 11164-11174.3

  11164. (a) This article shall be known and may be cited as the

  Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.

  (b)…..all persons participating in the investigation of the

  case shall consider the needs of the child victim and shall do

  whatever is necessary to prevent psychological harm to the child

  victim. 11165. As used in this article "child" means a person under the age

  of 18 years.

  11165.3.   As used in this article, "the willful harming or injuring

  of a child or the endangering of the person or health of a child,"

  means a situation in which any person willfully causes or permits any

  child to suffer, or inflicts thereon, unjustifiable physical pain or

  mental suffering, or..willfully causes or permits the person or health of the child to be..placed in a situation in which his or her person or health is

  endangered.11165.7.   (a) As used in this article, "mandated reporter" is

  defined as any of the following:11165.9.   Reports of suspected child abuse or neglect shall be made..by mandated reporters,11166.05,… shall accept a report of suspected child abuse or neglect whether offered by a mandated reporter or another person. When an agency takes a report about a case of suspected

  child abuse or neglect in which that agency lacks jurisdiction, the

  agency shall immediately refer the case by telephone, fax, or

  electronic transmission to an agency with proper jurisdiction.

  c) Any mandated reporter who fails to report an incident of known

  or reasonably suspected child abuse or neglect as required by this

  section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months

  confinement in a county jail or by a fine of one thousand dollars

  ($1,000) or by both that imprisonment and fine

  (2) Nothing in this subdivision shall be construed to modify or

  limit a clergy member's duty to report known or suspected child abuse

  or neglect

    (   (C) The local law enforcement agency shall have jurisdiction to

  Investigate…even if the report is made after the victim has reached the age of majority.

  I have been reading countless heartbreaking accounts on this site of children of Jehovah's Witnesses being "disfellowshipped" and shunned by entire families, their congregations, basicly everyone they have ever known for simply questioning their PARENT'S RELIGION!!. Some have been tossed out of family homes to live in cars!!! This is NOT Christian. This practice is Cultish, Barbaric and ILLEGAL in civilized countries!! All it takes is a private report to your local Police and the Child's school to tie up thousands of Elders, and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society with criminal investigations. It could pave the way for these countless victims to sue for Child abuse, and violation of human rights. This could help them obtain needed food, clothing and shelter. The Watchtower's current rantings that "Apostates are worthy of Death" must be simply terrifying to any child.

  Blood Transfusion?

  considering the latest questions from readers article on blood transfusion, i was wondering what the feelings are among this forums participants about blood transfusion.

  over the years the society has been receiving a growing amount of letters on the subject of blood and blood transfusion.

  any interesting biblical perspectives here about whether "abstain from blood" means abstain from blood transfusion?
