I have thought about this. It would be great. Some witnesses may see it out of curiosity. It would be great.

Anti-JW movie on Netflix?
by Ray Frankz ini'm watching the new netflix movie "come sunday".
it's one more film about a person who has turning point in life that demands the person to reevaluate his own faith and belief system.
in this case, the man is a petencostal bishop that gets very famous and has a big church preaching about salvation to heaven and punishment in hell.

Endure or Enjoy??
by stuckinarut2 inhave we ever noticed how witnesses are constantly being told that life is something that needs to be "endured", rather that "enjoyed"?.
life is always so tough, so hard, so difficult in "these last days".
"persecution and trials abound".

I remeber back in the 90s the JWs were accused many times of being a negative religion. I'm glad you pointed this out. I know several JWs who are always focused on themselves and how hard their life is. Good post.
When I was a teen and pioneering, a bitter JW told me I shouldn't travel or have plans/goals in life until we're in paradise. Ugh! I hated talking to her.

Nephew’s JW Fiancée Begins Conversion to Judaism Due to Passover Date
by Rabbi Midge init’s been a while since i posted, but for those who remember, i came on here to get some information about jehovah’s witnesses because i have a nephew who was getting engaged to a girl who was a jehovah’s witness and, along with some other sites, i was recommended this one.. since then we’ve been busy with passover and jehovah’s witnesses have had something they call the memorial of christ’s death (i believe i have that right).
this clashing of the two observances apparently did more for this girl than anything else i ever saw in our months of conversations with her.. respectfully, jews do not proselytize.
these are people who, of their own desire, “join the tribe” after some years of study and practice--something this girl has just begun to do.

His fiancee, I believe, has never really thought for herself. This is common amongst JWs. The poor thing... she must be devastated. The JWs who actually study and are familiar with the Jewish calendar know of the discrepency. Their excuse is that they use a pre-exilic calendar, but it's true that even regular calendars list the Passover. At least mine do. It's one of those things JWs just go along with like whatever.
I feel jealous that she got invited to a Passover Seder. I tried to invite myself over but it didn't work lol. There aren't a lot of Jewish families where I live but my son and I love learning about the Jewish culture. It's one of the things I miss about NY. I only know 1 family and she was nice enough to give me some extra dreidals for Hannukkah.
Also, I love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!!!

No Bible = No God?

My faith or belief in an eternal being or God is not based on the Bible so No, I wouldn't stop believing in God.

For those who still think the Bible is useful for arriving at any conclusions about life or anything else!

There are a lot of parts of the Bible I find deeply disturbing. I didn't realize how much they bothered me until I started reading the Bible to my son. So I decided to just teach him about Jesus and the Golden Rule. We go over Jewish traditions and holidays. We also like Proverbs. But I can't say it's the foundation of my faith. Since waking up I had to shift my faith to something I can feel and can't be tampered with so not religion nor the Bible. I still refer to proverbs but mostly Jesus when I feel I need direction.

My husband is starting to wake up gradually. He wants to come back just so his friends talk to him again, hang out etc.
He was shocked at first and actually shut me down each time I would try to make him think for himself. But after years of trying he finally started to take me seriously.

I haven't been in field service in over a year. I don't intend to either. It just doesn't feel right.

Frankly, I think it's stupid that JWs are required to do this. It's a made up manmade rule like everything else. But I feel that if I tell the elders that I no longer wish to report my time they will start a witch hunt. I live a few minutes away from the KH, my father is an elder. I'm thinking of moving my publisher card to another KH and not attend just to get them off of me. I haven't been to a meeting in a year and I just don't want to go back to the man made rituals. Any suggestions?
My hubby is DF but wants to get reinstated. I just want to fade. I am still a believer but not in religion.
