  The Apostle Paul was not part of the so called Governing Body. Actually there was no Governing Body in the 1st century. Paul did not report nor respond to the disciples. He did his own thing.

  1st century Christians didn't have Kingdom Halls, they didn't have a quota for preaching, they didn't have assigned territories, no one had to answer baptism questions or be a publisher, the meetings were conducted very differently.

  The lack of unity you mention is very different. Please do some research. You're embarrassing yourself

  Do some real research on 1st century Christians please. Look up Polycarp and other influential Christians that actually lived around that time. You will see a huge difference between them and Jehovah's Witnesses.

  John 14:6 - Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

  Acts 5:29 - In answer Peter and the other apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men. "

  Psalm 146:3 - Do not put your trust in princes Nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation.

  2 Corinthians 1:24 - Not that we are the masters over your faith, but we are fellow workers for your joy, for it is by your faith that you are standing.

  Matthew 20:25, 26a - But Jesus called them to him and said: “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them and the great men wield authority over them. 26 This must not be the way among you."

  * The Jehovah's Witness Governing Body want to control every aspect of their members life including the marital bedroom. This is NOT how 1st century Christian leaders behaved towards their fellow brothers in the faith.

  Matthew 23:4 - They bind up heavy loads and put them on the shoulders of men, but they themselves are not willing to budge them with their finger.

  Jesus NEVER said there was an organization that we needed to follow. He said "I am the way". The organization has taken away Jesus' authority and placed it on their governing body. They think they are Jesus. Jesus said we only need him, that's it! No organization. The Jehovah's Witness religion is a business and it is run/managed like one.The JWs also use MIND CONDITIONING which is a powerful tool to get certain behaviors out of their members. Their tactics are real and they know exactly what they are doing.

  I highly recommend The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse and Combating Cult Mind Control to see the tactics and manipulation they use. It's extremely similar to the tricks an abuser uses to keep their victim (usually a girlfriend/boyfriend or wife/husband) from leaving and continue to control them.

  This scripture applies to humans who follow Christ NOT a religious institution or organization. Jehovah's Witnesses follow the Organization lead by their governing body. JWs are faithful to the organization and leaders NOT Jesus Christ. And Jesus, nor Jehovah direct the Jehovah's Witness organization or their governing body.

  This scripture you mention applies to the 1st century Christians who were hated for saying that Jesus was the Messiah. This was considered deeply blasphamous to the Jews.

  Being hated does not equal approval from Jehovah. Jehovah's Witnesses have a terrible track record for being wrong many, many times. They're not humble enough to admit their mistakes.

  Zeal vs Fanaticism. What is the difference?

  a good friend of ours and i were chatting the other day about the difference between a zealous person and fanatical person.. what is the difference?.

  why is someone praised for being "zealous" , but another person is mocked or condemned for being a "fanatical" person?.

  how would jws be classed?.

  JW Parents in bad shape with no retirement.

  my wife's parents are in very bad shape.

  they are both 2nd gen jws.

  my father in law worked for a large american manufacturing company in the 60s and early 70s.

  Loyal Jehivah's Witnesses cannot retire comfortably. They are programmed to believe the "end" is near and so there is no need for retirement. It makes me sooo mad! I made thus mistake and I honestly thought I was showing full trust in Jehovah by not havung a 401k at my job. I was praised for it. Since waking up, I have been planning for retirement. I lost a decade bit I still have a few more to fix up my retirement plan.

  My parents have ZERO for retirement. Even though they are technically retired they still have to work as well as other faithful older JWs I know. They have always struggled and now even more. I just don't want that for me and my family.

  Suggestions for horror/supernatural movies

  hey guys, so now that i’m pretty much atheist and i’m not scared of demons or supernatural things, or bring them into my house by watching movies or reading books about them lol, i defenitly want to watch a few scary movies.

  i’ve always loved scary movies, but as witness, you don’t get to watch many since they need to be pg-13 and have no spiritism in it lol.

  does anyone have any suggestions?

  JWs are extremely ignorant when it comes to blood. I still feel like I have so much to learn. My hemotologist opened my eyes to how ridiculous my stance was on blood transfusions. He was very kind, and understanding but he explained things to me that made me stop and question everything that I had read from the governing body. It was very, very hard for me to do the research since I felt like I was betraying the organization. At the time, I was still very much in and active. It's crazy how the GB pushes and enphasizes this doctrine. It shouldn't be allowed.
