Omg! Yes! I used to get severe stomach cramps as soon as I would see the school building. It was a nightmare. Also, being told that they were all going to die at Armageddon. Anytime I made a friend I was always reminded of their impending death unless I helped them become a witness. Ugh! How horrible to say this to a child. I felt so different already and being a JW just made it worse. I cant remember how many times I had to excuse myself from holiday activities during class. No wonder my stomach always hurt.

JWs made me hate school
by StephaneLaliberte inyesterday, i had an epiphany.
i realized that the jw religion made my experience in school awful and i hated school because of this.. yesterday, my kids had an activity where the whole school was out at the park, playing baseball, soccer, other pic-nic games and even swimming pools.
during the day, i had conversations with the teachers and saw the kids out, playing having fun.

TD thank you for the article.
It's crazy how ignorant he is. This happened while the class was in session so I had to keep my cool lol

Ectopic pregnancies, when detected, are usually treated by surgically removing them. I always understood that this procedure was ok for Jehovah's Witnesses. But the subject came up during pioneer school. The circuit overseer started explaining that abortions are NEVER acceptable. A human is a human as soon as conception happens. But then he asks if there is ever a reason to break this rule. So I decided to raise my hand and mention the Reasoning book under Abortion where is says it's up to the individuals involved to make a choice if it's during childbirth. I also mentioned ectopic pregnancies.
Well, this didn't go over so well with him. Oooh noooo! He said the information I had was incorrect and the it's NEVER acceptable even if it means death for the mother and that such things don't happen anymore with all the medical advancements.
I was very surprised. Especially since ectopic pregnacies have risen. If a JW woman refuses the procedure to have it removed she risks major blood loss and loss of life. I was and still am surprised by his response. I spoke to other elders about it and they either had no idea what an ectopic pregnancy was or if they did they told me it's one of those things where it's acceptable.
I didn't find ANYTHING talking about ectopic pregnancies in the Watchtower articles.
Has anyone here had an ectopic pregnancy when they were a JW? What dis the elders say?

hall crash
by intrigue169 ini live in the des moines iowa area , i would be interested in doing a kingdom hall crash after watching some on youtube, i would love to do that with a group of people.
i haven't meet any other ex jw around here.
i was never baptized, i always knew i could never live up to jehovah's standard so i never did even consider baptizing.

I have learned, through this forum, that it's best to ask curious questions innocently. This plants seeds of doubt. Hall crashing just doesn't work. Take an opportunity to speak to some and ask one or 2 questions. Take it slow. I started doing thus with my husband and it's been working. He is slowly waking up.

Should it be considered sexual harassment?
by Addison0998 inon thing that really makes me angry and disgusted is when i think of the way in the past that the elders pressured me over and over again to have a meeting with them over a petty make out and petting incident.
they asked such instrusive, personal questions like, “did he touch your breast, for how long?
under or over your clothes?” i know that this happens to thousands of people, especially young women, and it’s just not right, it makes me so angry that i almost feel tempted to confront the elder who especially did this, when i see him at the convention in a few weeks and tell him what a sick person he is and how much trauma he caused me, manipulating me and pressuring me to answer such instrusive questions while he sat there and took notes!!

An elder actually told me that if woman wanted to they can do a class action lawsuit against the organization for sexual harrassment during judicial committees. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Helping my husband wake up, need advice.
by Whynot inmy husband is dfed but he is a prime example of someone who was a puppet for the watchtower.
i was able to wake him a little with the sex abuse scandal.
he was an elder and is very familiar with those rules.

Still Totally ADD my husband feels VERY guilty. A former elder, regular pioneer and we were extremely active. He just completely lost it, abandoned me and my children so there's plenty of guilt. I took him back but I know he still feels bad. He stopped going to the meetings because of the guilt. Then I stopped going. He has always told me that he doesn't feel good enough to pray or be anything in the cong. He was a HUGE rule follower, always nit picking. He felt that being an elder made him feel important and fed his self-esteem. So he was an elder for selfish reasons.

Anyone think Assemblies will stop?
by blownaway innot completely but the expensive renting of halls or assembly hall ownership.
maybe with streaming they could have assemblies at the kh and stream the program.
i bet they cut costs in a lot of ways.

Honestly, I really don't see the purpose of conventions since they can just broadcast it at the Kingdom Halls. I don't see it happening anytime soon but I do maybe in a few decades. I know some JWs really look forward to them since they get to see friends that don't usually get to see. The BORG keeps them busy.

I bought him a book called The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse a few weeks ago. He hasn't read it yet. I'm wondering if this book will help. I'm even thinking of having family study with it just so he can absorb the info lol
