An old memory...
by Biahi inwhen i was newly divorced,still attending meetings, some of the younger married sisters got friendly with me.
we went out (to bars) after the meeting, we hung out, etc.
then one “ friend” asked me for a favor.

Head Coverings for Women
by Diogenesister inwatchtower's ignorance around the historical background to many biblical directives has had a very negative effect on the lives of witnesses.. for instance paul said women should cover their heads because in corinth prostitutes walked the streets plying for business with their heads uncovered.
hence head coverings were never a symbol of headship but a directive very specific to that period, as was the blood directive!!.
watchtower leaders have been lawyers, businessmen, civil servants and door-to-door book salesmen, never, ever historians or biblical scholars.

Social Security/ Center link/ dept of human service or whatever name they are on this week
by zeb inthis large australian govt dept is the one that pays the pensions to the aged, the broken, the invalids, the unemployed.
they are running a campaign to claim back 'overpayment' from the least able to resist,and in recently revealed cases even the deceased.. no media org or politician will take up the challenge of naming the authors of this insidious action.
if the dept with all its resources overpays and that is a big if then that is their problem to deal with not screw the hapless, the downtrodden and the aged all in all the defenceless.. pensioners are now living in fear they will be sent the dreaded letter to say 'pay up'.

This is a display of gross emotional immaturity and you could have been caught up in it. Avoid her like the plague!
Young witnesses in my experience are at least two years behind in their social immaturity and the wt legalistic thinking then authors such ideas.
Perhaps if she had shown him a ...'good time'.. a bit more often she would not have sort to lay in the grass over the fence..

Our congregation will be deleted
by Rattigan350 inlast night was the co's visit.
prior to his part, an elder had a part on following theocratic direction.
it was about our congregation being deleted (there are 2 sharing this hall) and the people and territory being divided up to the 4 other surrounding ones.. they say it is not about numbers but about making best use of resources.

- WT hardliners are without doubt not subject to the daily disciplines of having to go to work
- Not having to face traffic
- pay therefore for all the vehicle costs and the stresses of parking
- face ever rising cost of living
- have to deal with insecure employment and employers wims
- living with a dark cloud of fear over not being able to meet the mortgage and there dispossession.
- they do not have children, they dont have the night of sickness so never have disturbed sleep then having to face daily the above
- so they dont face the harping criticism by the self righteous class for every facet they engage in child rearing
- they dont have to face their kids being bullied and assaulted at schools due to their proclamations and predictions
- They do not even have neighbours in any normal social sense as they live in a wt monastery
- they do have extended privilege with parking, hotels, airline travel, their housekeeping done, their meals cooked, they do live like grandees and in the disbelief they are chosen of God
- they are in fact institutionalized
- they do afflict on the jw masses their interpretation ever changing of rules to live by as modern day pharisees.
- they have had a now notorious history being revealed, the CARC and inquiries in other countries
- they will expect the masses to close ranks ever further against anyone who says, "Hey, wait a minute" and to fund them at every call with no accounting for where the funds go.
- despite denials they will go on the the policy of shunning with scant regard to its destruction of families.
There is coming hard and fast a day of reckoning for them the wts in all its variety and the GB.
I thank the legislature of New York for the recent re opening of the opportunity for victims to pursue justice and COMPENSATION whereby the victims can seek professional care on going and life reconstruction (education) as little enough for the abuses suffered.
