Your reward for being competent with "privileges"(i.e. work) is more "privileges."

I served faithfully from the age of 19 to 26 as a Ministerial Servant. I had every privilege that could be given to a brother who is not an elder.

When I moved I remember being asked: "How are you being used in your new congregation?" Used. Used is a great term. That's exactly how I felt. I felt that when the organization was done with me they crushed me like an empty beer can and threw me over their collective shoulder.

I have no doubt that the current generation wants nothing to do with "privileges". They seek balance between work and leisure. Being a Witness is about giving up your ability to find joy in life for a make believe life in a new world.

Jehovah allowing this Russia to happen?

so the brother that works in my office was talking about this russia thing, how jeh is "allowing" it to happen, how every witness is writing a letter to all six officials and not just to two or three, so my question was if that is true "aren't all you witnesses working against jehovah---he must have his reasons for allowing it to happen.

back to work but i'm sure monday he'll have an answer like what a great witness it is or how it gives every other witness a chance to demonstrate their faith (by writing letters).

i'll have an answer ready for him just for fun.. i'm sure watchtower just loves stuff like this russia business.

What more proof does one need to show that Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult? It's not even a denial of the accusations. It's just a command - don't believe!

Why not believe media reports? Are they fake news? On the contrary - media reports on Jehovah's Witnesses are some of the only non-politically biased news reports available these days.

New letter about Circuit Conventions accounting procedures

i hope that one of the friends will post the letter soon.

i heard that on 3/27/2017 a letter with new instructions about the accounts at the circuit conventions was released.

the letter seems to adopt many of the corrections that had been suggested here at the forum, among other things during the accounts report they will be no mention of the per capita and the amount due is going to be released only to the elders.

After watching the eye opening video that is posted above it shakes the very pillars of one's faith. The WBTS is literally charging admission to the Circuit Assemblies. You can't tell me that it takes $20,000.00 to turn the lights and heat/air on for a 2 day assembly. If Jesus visited a Circuit Assembly I guarantee he would start weaving ropes into whips.

I postponed my career as a police officer because of this. When i finally went to the police academy one of the instructors handed out a copy of Romans 13:1-7 and said "This is known as the 'police officer' scripture as so named by ministers in this area."

The Russian letters

so all the jw's i know are practically wetting their pants in excitement over the russian letters they are sending out.

they seem to have this insane idea that putin's office will be pulled sky high with all these letters and they have this image in their imaginations of him having to open and read every letter (!).

also all the jw's i know have all put their name and address on the letter... which couldn't have any repercussions of course (!

Why did Satan tempt Eve with a talking snake when he could have materialised as another human to tempt her ?

since the angels that followed satan could take on human form and even have sex and bear offspring to females of earth why would satan not have used this avenue instead of talking through a snake .?

why wouldnt eve question how a snake could talk?

there was a grassy area that needed mowing to put a collapsible baptismal pool on i think.

there was no mower so they gave a bunch of sisters a pair of scissors each and they went on their knees and snipped away.. only in jehovah's organisation!.

I had announcements one night. I made the announcement that we were having a going-away party for some old friends at the Kingdom Hall on Saturday afternoon. I pulled a weed from my suit coat and held it up. Basically, it was a weed pulling from our parking lot. Shockingly, half the congregation showed up.

"Fake news" is a disingenuous moniker intended to be inflammatory. I do believe that mega media (CNN, Fox News, MSN, etc.) all attempt to put a political spin on every story. I cannot remember a time in recent years where a story was presented for the sole purpose of informing people. It seems that ever news story has to be some how the fault of conservative or liberal political parties.

The news coverage of the last U.S. presidential campaign has caused me to officially tune out the "news". I used to start my Sunday morning with massive cups of coffee, fried bacon, and hours of Sunday morning news programming. I haven't watched the news in months now.

I always thought the official company line was - "God does not test us. He allows us to be tested."

Satan challenged God's authority. In order to save face with creation, God accepted the challenge and now mankind suffers to appease God's ego.
