  JW TV April - more mind control rubbish

  hi it has been a while since i posted.

  sorry this is a rant.. to be honest i have been on a journey - nearly faded but i won't elaborate until i can.. i just watched april's broadcast.

  since when do we have "hollywood" style movie previews?

  I noticed that too when I, at their request, took a couple of old timers to the monthly GBTV showing. The visual coupled with the words about keeping pace with Big J were shameless and blatant propaganda promoting the use of electronic gadgets. Notice the old fellow starting at one end of a row of printed publications, only to ignore them in favor of that shiny gadget? And only a few short years ago those gadgets were demonized from the platforms and stages of assemblies, and meetings.

  Since leaving WTTS have you joined a new church or just continue with the new beliefs you have discovered under no religion?

  If I left the JW's why would I ever join another religion? Just different sides of the same counterfeit coin, and just like counterfeit money both are worthless.

  Under WT rules, can JW women file for a divorce? Or can only men file?

  the reason i ask is because while watching the "dateline" episode about ralph candelario, the claim was made that only jw men could file for divorce, not women.

  .

  i had never thought about this before.. also, how does this apply in cases where a husband is "apostate" while the wife is faithful to wt?

  An elders daughter, wife of another elder (who himself weighed in at over 300 pounds) lost about 150 pounds, got a boob job, fixed her hair up and divorced her elder husband. He stayed an elder, evidently no "wrong doing" on his part. She remarried some bozo that looked like a GQ model and was an elder. He stayed an elder where they moved to, she pioneered. Evidently no "wrong doing" by either of them either.

  Circuit Overseer say. . .

  last night i had to suffer through the bs spouted by the new co. some garbage about the bible transforming us as people.

  he went on and on about how we can look good to people at the hall who see the outside, but the bible will tell us what we are inside.. then he proceeded to use a few select verses to say sex is bad and so is the desire for it.

  a healthy bank account or savings is wrong, shouldn't have that either.

  Last night I had to suffer through the BS spouted by the new CO. Some garbage about the Bible transforming us as people. He went on and on about how we can look good to people at the hall who see the outside, but the Bible will tell us what we are inside.

  Then he proceeded to use a few select verses to say sex is bad and so is the desire for it. A healthy bank account or savings is wrong, shouldn't have that either. And no more hunting because that means you might own a firearm.

  Then he claimed that Big J doesn't make rules, the Bible is all about "principals", as if he forgot all the rules that the Gibbering Buddies in New York make up as they go along.
  

  Of course he did mention that "we" (they) should all try to be pioneers, work at Warwick and on local hall builds, clean the local hall and so on as a measure of our spirituality.

  Simple Definition of dogmatic

  • : expressing personal beliefs as if they are certainly correct and cannot be doubted

    So of course the Gibbering Body is not dogmatic. We all know they don't put out statements of belief that cannot be doubted. . .do they? (Sarcasm off)

  Agreed! Not of course EVERY song, of every genre, but the good music is overshadowed by the mostly garbage being foisted on the public these days. Just think of songs about cop killing, rape, little red cups, etc. The shining examples of good popular music, whatever genre it is, are getting fewer and further between.

  Are Witnesses really "Bible Students"?

  we were always told that as witnesses we were "sincere bible students".... carefully examining the scriptures.. yes, we were indeed taught much about the content of the bible, it's history, prophecies etc..... but it was always from one perspective....that of the society.

  when the society changed its interpretations, we had to do the same..... so were we really "bible students", or "society students"?.

  just a thought.....

  Have you noticed the distinct lack of footnotes and cross-references in the RNWT as opposed to the NWT? It's not by accident.

  So true. One of the most obvious omissions that I noticed was the cross reference in Matthew 23: 36 for "generation". It used to cross to Exodus 20: 5 which said, ". . .fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation."

  It has been deleted in their new Bible, for obvious reasons, IMO.

  Not only NO. . .but HELL NO!

  A student is one who studies something. There is no way JW's study the Bible. They study books and magazines using a few worn out, cherry picked verses to try to prove what those books and magazines say. Study the Bible. . .NEVER!

  Todays WT about young people not following the bad example of their parents

  so the wt today had some paragraphs that told young people they could make their own stand for da troof.... 2 since we live in a fierce, loveless world, it is no surprise that many children have to grow up without the benefit of loving, protective parents.

  Yeah right! Tell that to the two older JW's I know who have had not one elder or MS call or visit them in over three months. They both plead with fellow JW's to come visit, but their pleadings fall on deaf ears. Effing hypocrites in the congregation. At least I visit them regularly, and try to subtly share some good news about TTATT.

  Wow! "Instructing" visitors how to properly dress? What do they think the visitors are, three years old?

  IF, and that is a big if, I were to be desperate enough to take one of these tours I would dress no different than the factory workers, or the construction slaves at Warwick!
  When they wear a suit and tie or a dress to scale scaffolding, spray paint, hang drywall, pour concrete, lay brick, blow in insulation etc. then I would, until then. . . they can kiss my $#%!!
