  An eye for an eye?

  i was reading about how an internet company wants to transmit timothy mcveigh's execution over the internet on a pay-per-view basis.. it disturbed me that society appears to be drifting backwards in this regard, that not only are there people who want to make money from this situation, there are also many people apparently willing to view it for entertainment purposes.. of course, nothing would pack in the historical crowds like a public execution.

  but the gradual enlightenment of society made public executions a footnote of history, and the death penalty appeared to be following.. and that made me consider what my attitude is to the death penalty itself.. in wt land the death penalty is considered to be "divine justice".

  the bible brims to the covers with accounts of executions using the most excrutiating methods, such as stoning.

  No. Stats prove that the death penalty does not curb violent crime(God must not have those stats yet). Although it may get you elected depending on where you live(can you say Bible belt). I say part of the cost of society is to house dangerous members but to kill them only sends a double standard. That is that the killing was okay but your reason for doing it was wrong. How bout this- There is no good reason to kill. Murder is murder. Is this confusing? If you murder you go to prison.

  This is something I grapple with in regards to the Bible. It seems the idea of murder or death as a solution to anything is flawed. Resorting to kill another human for any reason seems to go against basic sense. The more I read the Bible the more I see it as a crutch to those who choose not look for better solutions to lifes dilemas(laziness? fear?). If its bad to God its bad to me so Ill just kill it(cause Gods gonna anyway).

  Window Cleaners?

  like a lot of others here, i gave higher education a miss when i left school (1980).

  under the encouragement of the society i pioneered for three years instead!.

  now i clean windows for a living.

  I did. But Im only 27. Its actually not all bad. I seem to pay better attention in class now that Im a bit older. Maybe it was all those hot babes that distracted me(oh wait they still do). Maybe Im just more mature(ha ha) and ready for the responsibilty of college studies.
  Anyway I am on track to get a B.A. next year, and am lightly throwing the idea around of furthering my study into the area of law. Hopefully I can time it out right and get in on the class action law suits coming down on the societies blood policy. Ill donate all my fees to charity of course.

  we wonder if similar apostate nights out have been held elsewhere.. we daringly held this mini-convention (8 in attendance) at a smoky bar somewhere in minneapolis.

  I often think about dropping everthing Im doing and just walking away to a remote wilderness. No one is around and I feel free. Oh yea and Im naked and I have really really big feet. I must be disturbed.

  I was simply a participant in this study that was trying to determine the degree to which a population can be hypnotised. These psychology students explained that people do not forget being hypnotised or what they did while they are in it. They said that the trance like state that we see demonstrated on tv is really overplayed. Its really simply a form of intense focus through relaxation. They really did get me relaxed to the point that I was sorta slumped over in my chair. It was similar to the early stages of sleep. At this point in ones conciousness you are sometime more able to retrieve information that maybe be surpressed or forgotten while totally awake, and focusing on other things. They would try things like talking alot about two colored dots and then have you look to the front of the room where a poster was hanging with 3 colored dots. Then after the session they asked how many dots we saw(or remembered seeing). They had us really focus on a day we had in the 2nd grade and while our eyes were closed we picked up a pen and wrote our names and the date on a pc of paper. Some of the participants handwriting looked like a 2nd grader. I was most impressed with the relaxation part of it.

  the bible says that at the mouth of three witnesses let every matter be firmly established.

  so i'm curious... if you had to choose only three, what three things about the watchtower society and/or it's teachings convinces you beyond any doubt that jehovah's witnesses has the truth about the bible and is the sole representative of jehovah on earth today?.
