  Crazy Thing Happened

  so, i met this jw guy around my age with a family like mine at local congregation (was visiting it with my family to see a friend of mine).. me and this jw hit it off real good.

  we have hung out a number of times.. by the way, he has a beard.. so we get to talking and i can tell that hes pretty awake to some strange things about the org.. this morning i get enough gall to ask him "do you know ttatt"?

  he responds "yes, and ill listen to it anytime".

  was talking to an elder about beards.

  he said that at bethel, only black and hispanic brothers can have mustaches (any actual facts supporting this decision?).

  he mentioned that we don't want to stumble anyone so that they won't hear our message.

  Relief Work and $$$

  was just talking to a jw who just got back from oklahoma doing relief work for jws who had their homes damaged.

  i didn't know this, but he said that the process goes like this.

  the homeowner usually has a payout from the insurance company in hand.

  Name Jehovah

  i have a question regarding the name "jehovah".. is yahweh an english translation of the name?

  if not, and some say that we don't know exactly how it should be translated, what about the argument the wt makes regarding "we do not know how jesus' name was originally said either".

  other bible translations translate names like "jeremiah" from their original language.

  so my spouse was just telling me how he/she was having a conversation with a doubting active witness.

  my spouse was telling them the doubt he/she had regarding blood transfusions and how he/she wasn't sure anymore.. .

  i was like "cautious as serpent, innocent as a dove".
