Child abuse

I have heard on more than one occasion from some JWs, including my mother, "the organization isn't perfect. We are made up of imperfect people that error at times. Don't hold an organization to a perfect standard. The abusers are exposed in time and removed from the org." Really? Completely clueless. Keep drinking the kool aid.

Annoyed
by Kas12 ini had this friend at school who is bisexual and she asked me to date twice both times i said no im not interested in girls that way but then she told everyone that we were dating and now im being called gay and lesbian.
one boy in my class said to me that im going against jws and then started calling me gay and other names.
then another girl in my class said theres nothing wrong with being gay and im being brainwashed by the jws..

Great advice, JP! This calls for some professional help from trained individuals. If her parents are well trained JWs, she might not get satisfactory, secular help. I suggest going to a school counselor.

The GB is probably kicking themselves for not tapping into this revenue source! The missed the boat on all the JW dot borg paraphernalia and chotchkies that litter the internet. They could have sold the software and hardware to line their wallets (like the KH monitors, AV systems, and trolleys.) Unfortunately, people can't stuff the donation box while sitting at home watching and listening to the meeting as they vacuum or cook. In my last days, I remember the elders clamping down on providing audio access to the meetings for those that are truly invalid or sick. Some would call in on speaker phone as they got caught up on secular paperwork at their office. My 30 and 40 something ex was notorious for staying at home in comfy clothes on the couch and calling in. The elders cut her off and would change the passcode on a regular basis. So much for getting their spiritual food from the comfort of the living room. I see a strongly worded letter from the CCJW to the congregations in the future. Maybe the borg can team up with the franchise and offer "pay per view" streaming like a boxing or wrestling match. They are going to have to get more creative and provide more revenue streams to the Warwick compound.

When I was PIMI, I knew many just like Mr. McDonalds. They use the KH like a social club of backslappers and networkers to advance their interests. They were in for social reasons. Saturdays were spent drinking it up at their private backyard pool with other like minded individuals (people making 6 figures). Somewhat tipsy, scantily clad members frolicked around the pool like a playboy mansion party. I worked there while they partied. Lots of drinking, eating into the mid evening, and loud music were the norm. Sunday morning, they were pseudo, straight-laced brother and sister somebody else. They would raise their hands and comment, carry the mics, publicly read the "washtowel" from the platform, and even give the Sunday public talk. They were not dyed in the wool JWs. They knew who to invite and who not to invite to their "get togethers." I am sure that you would feel different if you didn't have all the things that "worldly" people enjoy. You would be singing a different tune if you knew the TTATT and you pioneered out of high school, served at Bethel, served where the need was great, regular pioneered, worked dead end, menial, minimum wage jobs, washed windows, married at 19 so you can have sex, served as an MS or an elder, spent countless hours working for the RBC, or served where the need was great. Many have sacrificed so much for so little. They have learned that it was all lies for the advancement of a man made organization, taking care of the bethel heavies and their families. Mr. McDonald, I would like to see what would happen if you stepped outside the KH to smoke a cigar between the public talk and the magazine study, plaster a political bumper sticker to your car, curse or tell a dirty joke in the KH parking lot, talk about visiting apostate websites, or brag about your income and education. Until you live as a true JW, don't protect, justify, or comment on GB policies.

A lot of great comments here. alanv is correct. If you continue to lower the requirements, then more people can be pioneers. Lower the requirement to a little above the publisher average and 50% or nearly 4 million would be pioneers? I am guessing that the requirements will be gradually lowered so it will not be detected like in the past. Publishers only need to record 30 minutes. Field service time is counted by standing at a cart and staring off into space and zoning out. No real field service and talking at the doors, debating, defending your good news and beliefs.

"Worldly" boyfriend has never met my JW family, and might never will.
by BL_Poet inpublic service announcement: i am not going to write a whole backstory on myself, i just simply want to get to the point.. i have been disfellowshipped now for almost 3 years, for i had a baby out of wedlock, not by my current boyfriend, but by a guy i was dating at the time- don't judge me ;) lol- my current boyfriend and i have been dating for a year now.
i've met his family-only his parents, and his cousins family, of whom i knew before i met him, thus how i met him through a bbq- at the time, he knew i was a single mom, and didn't know too much of my backstory.
as you can imagine, i had to tell him about how my babies father and i didn't work out, due to his wandering eye, and how i had little to no support due to being disfellowshipped, or as the "world" knows it by- disassociated- from my religion.

I'm sorry for your situation. When I was in the org, I told my JW kids that nothing would ever cause me to shun or abandon either of them. I felt that this was so cruel and wrong. It's a shame that you are in this situation. After I left the org, my kids and family started shunning me (before being DFed).
Like you, I moved on and went on with my life with or without them. I met a wonderful and kind woman (not a JW). Likewise, the whole family shunning issue was difficult for her and her parents to understand. We married and I was disfellowshipped. Her family had opened their arms to me and couldn't have been more loving and supportive. It took some time though. It was foreign to them and completely unnatural. Though I miss my kids and parents, I have a new family that is not contingent on towing the WTBTS line. They are good people and I'm sure that your boyfriend's family will be the same way if giving the time and some education on the "JW way." Your boyfriend sound like a great and supportive man with you and your child. The family that opened their arms to you is a good situation to be in. This situation will take some time to work itself out. Time is a good healer.
As far as getting the "side eye" from your Bf's dad, might I suggest one Youtube video. John Cedars (Lloyd Evans) produced a great segment on Youtube in regards to the sickening convention, "Remain Loyal." One of the sections is a rebuttal to the shunning episode. There is a similarity to your situation and they drama portrayed at the convention. Explaining to your Bf's family that shunning is indoctrinated into the JW culture and taught at large assemblies might ease their suspicions. Since this is from a 3rd party on the otherside of the world, I think that seeing this video would explain the real situation that you are in. They would learn that there is nothing wrong with you, but that you are a victim of a controlling cult that places the cleanliness of the org above everything else. Best wishes. The link is below.

Secret sex in the Org

Elder, an influential pillar in the congregation, with 3 kids has an affair with a JW sister in another local congregation. The elder is confronted by his suspecting wife. They divorce. The sister divorces her JW husband and marries the former elder. The elder is Dfed and marries the mistress. His ex-wife marries the other brother that was cheated on. Basically, spouse swapping. The ex-elder is shunned, unsuccessfully tries to kill himself, and is severely disfigured. All 3 kids left the org and never looked back. Now, all of them are old, miserable JW zombies.
