My ex is a literal Karen. She is named Karen and was a Karen before the term Karen was even coined. I think she was the first Karen about 25 years ago. Look up Karen in the dictionary and the picture is probably her....hence...the reason why she is my ex.

What is your status (as of today) as a Jehovah's Witness?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inactive believer...still attend meetings, go out in field service, believe it's ''the truth''.
active non-believer... go to meetings and field service to please family... living a double life .
inactive believer...don't attend meetings but believe it's the truth, one day might go back to kingdom hall.

Is there a 5? Stopped attending all meetings, don't believe it's the truth, bible is fiction, and will never step foot in a kingdom hell ever again.

Do JW women expect LESS from their man than Non-jw women?
by pistolpete innon-jw women usually expect their man to have some type of social status.
whether it's education, money, fame, etc.. these days, feminism also plays a role in a future, marriage.
(the man is not the head, maybe the women is the head).

It may not be a priority for a JW woman to want education, money, and fame. There are other things. My ex was hardcore PIMI. She kept complaining and pressuring me to reach out for more "privileges." She wanted the status of having a MS or an elder as a husband. She would rise on a social level and I guess others would look up to her. Go figure? That why she is my ex. Now, she's a social outcast by being a measly divorced publisher. ;)

I completely agree with both of you. My parents are in their late 70s and early 80s. I'm POMO and Dfed for sometime. At this point in their life, I would hate for them to learn TTATT. It would completely devastate them to learn that was a farce and all lies by a man made organization that has nothing to do with true worship. This org had forced them to cut me off from my family and they have lost so many years with me. They have wasted their life in FS, conventions, and meetings. It's best that when they pass, they will think that they will wake up in paradise as faithful JWs.

I knew JW husband and wife that threw a"murder mystery" dinner party. It went over like a lead balloon with the local body of elders. They were called into a JC and publicly reproved along with those in attendance.

Would You Ever Go Back To The Witnesses??
by minimus inevery once in a while you hear people say they actually “miss” their old witness friends and or family.
some would have even stayed in the organization if they became a bit more liberal and open minded.

by goingthruthemotions inso i am trying to understand if i am the only pomo that experiences the situation where the pimi spouse comes back from a meeting a different personanlity.
it may not be obivious to the untrained eye, but i notice it and i know my sons notice it.

My PIMI wife, at the time, was the same way after the assemblies though. The 6 hour brainwashing session completely transformed her from a ho hum publisher to a fully ratcheted JW. She get all "built up" with the experiences told from the platform, most of which are made up or severely embellished. She would come off this spiritual high to an extreme low. She felt as if she wasn't doing enough and she hated herself for it. It really f-ed with her mind and I think it made her manic and/or bipolar swings worse. They would hold some publisher up on a pedestal with their personal struggles and issues, but praise them for their dedication and work to "further the kingdom message." This is suppose to make everyone feel as if they aren't doing enough and can do more. I remember a story of a single mom with 3 boys that worked full time, regular pioneered, had to have regular bi-weekly medical treatments, and took care of her elderly parent. At the time, my wife didn't work, didn't pioneer, had good health, and did nothing all day. In order to make herself feel better, a lazy person, like her, would build herself up by tearing me or others down on the drive home. I was fully PIMO and took the verbal beat down after every 1, 2, 3, or 4 day assembly for every ride home. The GB know exactly how to push the buttons to make the R&F do more. They fizzle out after weeks or months.....in time to have another assembly and push them again. This was a leading cause in me becoming POMO, divorcing her, and being Dfed. She is still fully PIMI but without a punching bag. -

Giving them to Goodwill is good. Giving them to The Salvation Army is better! It's like giving the borg the middle finger. Hopefully, they can sell the item for a nominal amount and use the money do some good community work for the homeless and those going through a difficult time. That's what I did.
