The organization taught that the number would be decreasing as the system drew to a close and the 144,000 were chosen and filled. For decades, the number of partakers was decreasing. However in recent years, the number of the partakers has substantially increased. The number is published each and every year and the organization has no explanation for the increase. Just before the memorial, a talk is given about the anointed, who should be partaking, and the seriousness of the error of partaking for those that are not truly anointed. This is to stem the increasing tide of those that claim this class. Many believe that the org will stop releasing the yearly count of those that claim to be of the heavenly class. That way, the rank and file will not know the true numbers and the org will avoid inventing an explanation... like the overlapping generation fiasco.

"Unique" Achievements By the WTS - Special Only Through The Ability of the World to Do The Same
by konceptual99 inbit of a long winding topic title but the thread on the dub in the bunker video made me think of what thing the wts does that are seen as basically impossible for anyone else to do and therefore evidence of holy spirit and god's blessing, yet those same things are done by the rest of the world day in, day out.. i have a few examples:.
- ability to buy a feck off big printing press and print thousand of magazines an hour.
only that every other big publishing organisation uses the same presses to do the same thing.. - ability to get inexperienced people to act using an acting coach as well as produce feature length films with reasonably high production value levels and special effects.

The old "Quick Build" Kingdom Halls! I come from a construction background. The support on Saturday and Sunday was large. I have to say about 80% of the volunteers considered it a social occasion and 20% of the people did 95% of the work. There was alot of wasted manhours and time with an unorganized work force. Elders and MS, with no skills, directing and organizing the work. Many times, tasks and work had to be redone. I remember seeing about 60 people shingling a roof on a sunny day. Everyone wanted to get up on the roof and be a part of the action. The foot traffic damaged and destroyed the warm, soft shingles. A 20 year shingle only lasted about 10 years and the roof had to be redone. When the congregation was informed that they needed a new roof, some wanted to go back after the manufacturer because it was under a 20 year warranty! In addition, the same hall cut corners on the roof framing and used thin particle board to span the trusses. They also had to replace all the roof sheathing. They saved $9 a sheet between particle board and plywood when the hall was being built. Ten years later, they had a $20,000 bill, in materials, to remove and replace the entire roof. The quality was slipshod and thrown together. Materials were wasted on people not having the skills to complete the assignment correctly. If they would have built a modern day ark, it would have sank like a stone. A "Worldly" construction company would have done a much better and economical job. In the long run, the building would last longer and have fewer repair and rework needs. However, it's all about appearances and making the R&F feel good about the org.

Listing Bros cv's in their intro
by purrpurr inat the assembly i noticed something new and disturbing.
when a brother is introduced before a talk the audience is now given their life history/ major accomplishments .. "brother arsehole who served at bethal for five years, pioneered in the foreign language territory for ten years, is an elder in x congregation and serves in the construction projects blah blah blah".
this puffing up never used to happen?

Brother "Never Grew Up" will be giving the next part on our 20 part symposium. Brother "Never Grew Up" was home schooled and married the first woman that he ever kissed at 18. He has spent nearly 20 years in the full time service while living in his parent's basement and collecting unemployment checks while working for cash under the table. He hasn't held steady verified employment for more than 4 months at a time. The births of both his children were paid for by our tax dollars. The topic of his talk is "Being honest in all aspects of our life." Brother "Never Grew Up," you have our undivided attention.

Is it me or were the experiences at the assemblies really contrived?
by keyser soze inmy favorite were the ones where they were reading a wt publication in the break room at work, and an inquisitive co-worker, thirsty for spiritual knowledge approaches them.
this leads to an informal witness, which eventually leads to bible study and baptism.. in all my years of working, i've never had anyone show the slightest bit of interest in what i was reading while i was on my break at work.
but as i said, maybe it's just me..

My ex-spouse gave an experience at an assembly. During the practice sessions, the overseer tended to "adjust" and embellish the story because "it would benefit the district more." Each practice session changed the story a little more each time. My spouse had a troubled conscience with the way that it was changed and the lying involved. It was a terrible weight, but the storied was conveyed to the overseer's delight. Needless to say, my ex-spouse is still in and I'm out.

DD, I have tried Android and iOS for years. Currently, I have a SP4. It's a great device. I like having a full desktop suite for Word, Excel, and photo editing...ect. Also, it has the ability to run apps. Even though MS doesn't have access to the enormous amount of apps as Android or iOS, it has the key ones that I use. I paid extra and picked up the Core i5 model. If I had it to do all over again, I would have stuck with the Core m3 with just 128GB of storage and used a mini flash drive and micro mini sd for more storage. The battery life of the i5 is terrible...especially when using the internet....maybe 4 hours tops. I heard that the m3 easier on the battery. Rarely, do I need the power of an i5 to drive certain programs. It's nice to have the 8GB of RAM and the 256GB SSD though. If the m3 had 8 GB RAM and a larger SSD, I would have opted for it. I'm waiting for a real MacOs tablet that runs a full suite of El Capitan, but not thrilled about paying the "apple tax." I suppose that after apple maxes out the sales and profits of the iPad, a apple tablet with a robust OS will hit the market. Best wishes.

G Losch Talk - Do Not Hold a Grudge
by Listener ina new video on jw org tv titled do not hold a grudge is presented by gb's oldest member gerrit losch.this is just another representation of the standard of talks prepared and given by the highest level of authority and position within the jw organization.
they desperately need help, not even their complete rebranding can save them from themselves.some of this gb member's gems about holding a grudge include -.
- what can lead to a grudge?

I hold a grudge against Losch for being a coward and not facing his deposition, "letting his light shine", giving a witness, and defending the good news. Instead, he shrieked his responsibility and helped to empty the coffers of funds donated for the world wide work from hardworking and nearly destitute families. Hide in your ivory tower away from the real world.

Did others experience this on the ministry or among JWs generally?
by slimboyfat insometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.
i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.
a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.

I heard these statements many times in "field circus." Most of the times it was putting "dibs" on a certain house in the territory. Other times, it was extended to a certain car or even a motorboat in the driveway. Young ones would follow the example of hearing others stake out a claim. Most disturbing was a brother staking a claim on a widowed woman. Geez. Really demented stuff.

My life has ended (be careful what you wish for part 2)
by nevaagain innoone and nothing can really prepare you for the burning pain you feel when your spouse leaves you after 8 years of marriage.
from one day to another, all your dreams, hopes and plans are shattered.. i still have so many questions which will remain unanswered in eternity.. the thread i made a few weeks ago, is part of this story.
after learning about ttatt my plans involved to wake up my wife as well and exit the truth.

It seems to me that you are a bright individual and your assessments are right on. She is using the awakening of the TTATT as an excuse to leave you. I guess you were damned if you did tell her and damned if you didn't tell her. You most definitely had a obligation to tell her about TTATT. You love her and wanted her to get out of this mind controlling screwed up organization. Your intentions were entirely noble. However, she is a coward that is using you as a scapegoat to leave everything. You can not force anyone to be with you....when they don't want to. If you could, why would you want to do that? I wish you the best. Move on. Find a good woman outside the org. Live a good life and appreciate the one that you will be with.

Great job, NJ. Well articulated and spoken. Outstanding! I wish I authored such a moving literary work.
