I'm surprised to see that some left before 75. Remember...stay alive to 75! Many jumped on the spiritual bandwagon just before 75 and hoped to ride the coat tails into a "para o dice" earth. I guess you saw through the crap before 75. Good for you.

who has been out the longest?
by stan livedeath inwho has been out of the cult the longest ?.
i'll start--i resigned in 1971, but attended occasionally as a non-interested husband to keep the wife sweet, untill my last circuit assembly in autumn 1980. no connection with the cult since then.
so--its either 47 or 38 years, depending on how you see it.. which begs the question--why am i on this site now ?.

Overlapping Generations
by JRK ini remember when that came out, my mother didn't catch it in the original article in the wt.
it was in one of the review "do you remember" thingies that she caught it.
she asked me if it means what she thought it meant.

The overlapping generation joke was one of the final nails in the coffin that sealed my choice to leave the org. I was never surprised that many more haven't filed out of the "kingdumb hall." Most have too much invested to leave and don't have the strength or confidence to leave. Others are lost and need direction and to be told how to live their lives. They can't think for themselves. I find that most could care less about the drivel that comes from the Warwick compound. The PIMOs, that I know, just roll their eyes and keep their heads down and carry on. The membership has become more of a social club that provides some identity for those who don't have one since they don't have anything invested outside the org. They claim to be morally superior to the rest of mankind and support the view of being a "spiritual master race." They live in their own little subculture world. Some members will leave but there will always be replacements experiencing some life changing catastrophe that fall victim to the JW propaganda and their twisted Bible interpretation. I do believe that the org will continue to see more people leave and less new converts. The downward trend will continue.

Revelation, It's Grand Climax at Hand! The artwork was really crazy stuff. Not to mention, the stretching of prophecies to meet their predetermined interpretations.

by whatisthis12 inso i’ve been dating my boyfriend for over a year.
he left the jehovah witness community and we have been living together for one year.

I'm thinking that he might be embarrassed by the whole charade and doesn't want you to "witness" it. No pun intended. I would be embarrassed.

I wonder if we can can tell how many peeps were sent home between 2015 and 2017 during the purge when pink slips were handed out and many "were reassigned" to help with the preaching work. -

Some Good News About A Local Boy

This is great news for the family and I'm happy for them. Ironically, if the boy was hit by a car and needed a simple transfusion to save his life, they would let him die with a remedy just feet away?

The laziness of JW parents....
by stuckinarut2 init struck me that the society has created a culture of lazy jw parenting.. rather than parents being there to guide and direct and help their children through all stages of life, the gb / society has become the "go-too" for everything.. if the child has an issue, there is a wt article for that.. does the child need help with something else?
ah, there is a caleb and sophia cartoon for that.. what about that other topic?
ah, there is a book for that.. so rather than being present parents, the average jw parent simply outsources their parenting to the organization!

Being a JW parent absolves you from performing many duties of regular parents. For example, JW parents don't have to spend the time to travel and visit college campuses. They don't help their kids to make career choices and choose courses and a curriculum. They don't have to apply for financial aid or work some overtime or a second job to help pay for their kids education. The typical JW kid gets his secular start by having the "privilege" of working a no benefits part time gig for a fellow "believing" business owner while pioneering for the org. Meanwhile, the business owner is living high on the hog with honest hardworking young men and women at their disposal that are being duped. I know so many that fell into this trap. As full grown adults, they struggle to make ends meet, are heavily in debt, have no savings, no health care insurance, no retirement, and no meaningful employment that provides some satisfaction. It's no wonder that they pour everything into the org and trying to advance for a sense of some accomplishment.
