Peter himself was hung on a cross upside down because he felt himself no where worthy to be hung as Christ Jesus.

Adherents of Pro and Anti Cross Teachings ...Take Note
by itsibitsybrainbutbigenoughtosmellarat inoften in posts, i see ones referring to "the cross" or the jws view of an "upright stake" in posts on this and other sites.
a few years ago i saw "prince the rock entertainer" draw attention in a concert to "a lie told over and over" and then a cross appeared in a large picture behind him on stage demonstrating his epiphany through studying with the jws, about the instrument of death actually being an upright stake...to cite just one example.. all researchers and biblical enthusiasts should take note of the work accomplished by gunnar samuelsson and his team.
the publication was released in 2011 entitled crucifixion in antiquity and examines all scholarly works previously done on the subject as well as exaustive research by a team of people looking for facts and archeology to support one view or the other.

onacruise - Craig Mills 1952-2011
by Lady Lee ini was given the link to a bit of information regarding on old poster/moderator of this forum.
i was not sure of the validity of the information so have been trying to find out if it is true.. earlier today craig's estranged wife, kate, (bikerchic) confirmed that craig died at his home on aug 10, 2011.. i am sure that many people here remember craig's time here and how he went out of his way to offer support to posters, even calling them, to give whatever help he could as they adjusted to their post-jw lives.. i know many people here will grieve his loss.. --------------.
ps i tried posting this earlier but the computer i was working with would not allow the posts.

Dear Kate I was so overwhelmed to hear of Craig's passing and his ongoing battle with alcoholishm. He was one swell guy and your one sweet chic. How the years have passed by. The memories too. Seems like time stands still for none of us. Sometimes we seem to take life for granted until we loose someone who means a great deal to us.
This past year I have lost three important people in my life, my dear Aunt Mary, my fiance` and then my ex of 28 years just the other day. He suffered the most. His JW wife is a real bitch and I would love to bitch slap her from here to kingdom come. But the lousy broad took a vaction and my poor son doesn't get to say goodbye to his father because she is having no funeral talk or interment. He said to me mom do you think Father Gordon (My parish priest), would do a service for me. I said sure he would but don't expect any one as all of dad's friends are JW's and so the poor guy is having it rough. And tomorrow I leave for Alberta for a month to be with my sister.
I am happy Kate you have many good memories to look back on and remember with fondness and smiles. Sorry for the painful ones that hurt and make you cry. Sometimes we can't figure out why someone does the things they do, but for whatever reason Craig had for drinking I am sure it was his personal dragon to bare. I pray that your memories will always put a smile on your face and in your heart. Except my sincerest and deepest condolences for Craig and his and your family. May he rest in peace.
always,

What Is It That Really Troubles the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by orangefatcat inwell i think what worries them the most is that more and more witnesses are becoming free thinkers and that is troubling them, it worries them that thinking freely will cause them to seek answers elsewhere and that is the last thing the gb wants.
they have pulled the reins so tight now how much tighter can they pull before many witnesss crack under their yokes.
what is your thoughts on this matter.. .

Are you enjoying your REST? Well, the Governing Body SAID you would!
by Terry inthe governing body of jehovah's witnesses: reliable, spirit-led, trustworthy and accurate in their teachings?.
or: unreliable, human led, untrustworthy and inaccurate in their guesswork?.
you decide!

So what do ya'll think about the recent new light?
by stillin9 inyou know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.

Vaner, consider it a date, now I really have a reason to come to Montreal. Oh heck I love Montreal especially at Christmas time. In old Montreal there is a store you'd have to pry me out of the store literally all it sells are gorgeous Christmas things. My dear girlfriends practically had to pull me out of that store. LOL I love the joie de vivre. The House of Jazz, and the Red Roof Anglican Church. Montreal here I come when I get my settlement...

Conversation I overheard this morning...
by Morbidzbaby inso this morning i decided to go see if i could find some interesting used books for my flight in a couple of weeks and i saw a jw from one of the local congregations...she didn't see me, even though she was directly behind me looking at the same section of books.
i'm not exactly easy to miss, but i digress.. she was on the phone and was talking about a few things that i found incredibly interesting.
firstly, i guess a woman that just got baptized last year is absolutely fed up with the org!

Like I said Russell was arrogant and had no idea what he was talking about, kind of like that miracle wheat he professed to have which was bogus too . the Dawner's a branch of today's Russellites go strictly by the studies of the scriptures and i wonder what they think when they read that and study those books to this day.

So it is my guess you live in Montreal Vander? It's a great place to live I was their last fall as a tourist this time and just visited old Montreal and me and my three girlfriends had a great time. I am planning to return to Montreal later in the year if I get a settlement from my accident perhaps we may have an oppourtunity to meet.
To the person who said why do millions or billions die from cancer, I can't answer that question but we can't blame God for what happens to us, he didn't inflict this disease upon us, many people I love have died of this disease and i am sure they prayed to God and asked why me or why my family member or best friend. All i can say that much of the woes of humankind has been the result of what we have done to our planet and atmoshere the chemicals we use and breathe in. Sure it is terrible and it is not fair for anyone to die this way, but asking God to take it away sometimes isn't possible and I can't honestly give you a reason but that doesn't change how we should feel about praying to God. Luck has nothing to do with it either. we live in a world that is drenched in poisons and virus' in which the medical experts are now saying can cause some cancers. I don't think it is fair to blame God for what aliments we suffer as humans. it is what resulted from the sin of Adam and his wife and then that is another subject all together different so its not going to prove anything by going off on another tangent. If you have lost someone whom who deeply love to a dreaded disease i am so terribley sorry for your loss and I can truly understand the same pain. All we can do is give all the love we have in our hearts to the persons we love when they are dying and ask God to help us to endure the pain of the one suffering and not only for the person and for ourselves too.
ofc. I truly do care.
