haven't posted here in a while, but i was thinking about something i remember from the early 80s.
do you remember when that old theatre was restored in ny, i think it was called the stanley?
well anyway i remember this huge chandelier, i think it was really expensive antique made of crystal or something, well i remember distinctly that this chandelier cost around 1 million to buy!
a pio in our hall went to see, and brought a few of us back postcards they had made of the newly renovated theatre, i think i might still have them, about 10 of them ,,as i burned everything else i had, i will try to find and get scanned somewhere in the next week and ul here,,quite ornate fixtures,,,beautiful,,,

the posts in the elders meeting thread got me thinking about this, so i've spun it off for into another thread.. were you ever 'counseled' because "some" in the congregation were disturbed by things you said/did/listened to/watched?.
here is just some of the stupid stuff that the elders brought me in on.
though they were usually handled through shepherding calls, not in the back room at the kh.. 1: because i decided to change my first and middle names.
on a visit to bethel in canada, i noticed that very mag and others like it on a coffee table in a public sitting area, i was surprised as i had been told the same, also told not to bother going to libraries, as i often did, and there was only one book i should be reading

ever heard that song?.
"lord, they were dancing down at the kigdom hall".
"lord, they were swinging down at the kigdom hall".
i actually like "Green Eyed Lady" better :)

was at a luncheon gathering with about 12 sisters
we were talking about the book study,,i mentioned how my conductor was the worst, so dry, etc,,btw, my x and i studied with his wife,,,,but i only meant his book studies were terrible
well next meeting the elders asked to come to my house and meet with me,,,which they did,,and i was alone,,,they went up one side of me and down the other,,,they asked me if i thought i could conduct the study better, of course i thought i could :)
but i said no, they said i was bringing desention in the cong,,,,later when i talked with the elders wife about the visit (i had nothing to hide,), she agreed with me and said his studies were horrible, lol

i am stunned.. with all the effort to try and make the issue of abuse known through silentlambs.
the hundreds of accounts given by victims explaining the foundation of why watchtower policy hurts children.
the lawsuits now being enacted to make watchtower compensate those injured by their policy.
greetings
