Just to make it clear, the information regarding CESNUR on my first post (ie "Jehovah's Witnesses Join 'Babylon the Great' Interfaith Effort
Jehovah's Witnesses have always claimed to be against interfaith 'contamination' considering all religions other than Jehovah's Witnesses "false" and collectively making up "Babylon The Great" (Rev. 17). However, seeking to join a forum gathering of sociologists and other religious organizations in a united effort for silencing secular and government critics through "CESNUR", the JWs have officially broken with their past history of shunning other religions and have opted to participate with the Church of Scientology, the Unification Church, the Transylvanian Society of Dracula, and other groups. Public awareness by anti-cult forces caused their cancellation from this CESNUR forum claiming "previous engagements."") is all a quote from their website.
I could have made this clearer, but thought quotation marks were enough, as they usually are.

Can even hear babies cry. How apt.
There's more of em at http://www.watchtowernews.org/wav/wav.htm
I'm sure most of you already know about these, but I'm pretty sure I saw some new names around (newer than mine), so I thought it was worthwhile posting.

CO website
by oscartheduck injust thought some of you might like this, especially if you were there when all the "don't put up jehovah's witness websites" warnings were sprayed at us: http://www.angelfire.com/ky/proclaimer/.
it contains at least one reproduction of a society's letter concerning the net.... ============================.

I think tyydyy is partway there.
In order for a serious intellectual conversation to be effective in providing sufficient points of view for a conclusion to be reached, it has to have exposure. And it's easy for this exposure to be found in "main".
However, if those who want that kind of conversation all flocked to the other forums, as I do myself, and lived there, then that would solve the "problem".
I mean, the point of having a forum called "main" IS for general talk.

Question on Installing WTS CD-ROM
by Had Enough incan anyone with more computer techie knowledge than i have help me?.
i have a question on installing the newest version of the wts cd-rom because, in the recent topic on "yearbook experiences" an experiences was related from the 1971 yearbook, and thirdson requested a copy of it as his cd-rom only had yearbooks back to 1980.. this prompted me to check my 1995 version, and the yearbooks go back to 1971, so if i install my newer version, i understand it overrides the installed older version and therefore some older info will be lost.
i don't want to lose this older stuff as it is good to be able to reference it to compare all the flipflops and incriminating statements they've made to date.. soooooo.... my question: is there a way i can retain the older version on my harddrive and still install the newest version?.

If worst came to the worst, you'd just have to save the relevant data to a new directory, then override the old version.

Ah, the CO. I remember one time when I was working on the ministry with him. And turned to him and said, "Y'know, when you think about it objectively, what we believe is absurd."

There are No Annointed Ones
by JosephAlward ini've been reading posts to this forum for about four months, and i've been continually struck by the extraordinary number of forum members who consistently spell "anointed" incorrectly as "annointed.
" i estimate that only one time in four is this word spelled correctly in this forum, when it should be ten times in ten.. now, i would be the last to suggest that any of us should ever try to police the spelling of other posters, since what really matters is the message, not the spelling, but this is an extremely important word in jehovah land--or am i wrong about that?
probably no one will care very much if a current or former jw misspells most other words, but not spelling "anointed" correctly, given its extraordinary importance within the jehovah's witnesses' culture, would seem to be no more excusable than not spelling "jehovah" correctly.
-
oscartheduck
So, it's the words that are important, not the concepts embodied in the words? Right, I'll be sure to be more surface from now on, then.

EXCLUSIVE Official GB Publishing Committee Report
by stevieb1 inpublishing committee report .
a report from the publishing committee on making the best use of contributed funds.. five years ago because of construction in the united states and throughout the world on k. h. and a. h. and branches the needs were greater than the available funds putting quite a strain on the resources.. the design build committee limited any building projects to only those absolutely necessary.
this resulted in saving millions of dollars just the first year.. the operations committee with the help of a new integrated computer system was able to make some significant changes.

"Clearly, the Bible - by using this kind of terminology - shows beyond any reasonable doubt that the basic nature of cats, while created perfect by God, has become evil or 'beastlike' since the fall of Adam six thousand years ago."
This struck me as the best sentence in it, as it shows you a little of what goes on in the propoganda department.
"evil or "beastlike"
Like popping the two near each other in a sentence makes them related. And is he saying that all God's creations (because we must remember that we are informed that the theory of evolution has been "discredited", hence it is not taught anywhere anymore and we all laugh at our collective intellectual past believing in it) by nature of their being beasts are evil.
Scary thought.
