yesterday, the presiding overseer (elder h) read the letter from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses (us branch) regarding their policy on child abuse.

all scriptures were also looked up and read.. elder h is a very prepared brother.

he is a gilead graduate and served as a missionary for about 7 years in kenya before coming home because of illness.

then will you question the elder as to why? Of course not, if the elder is giving you this warning then it must be for a good reason, follow his counsel and protect your children.

Just don't tell anyone else or you risk opening yourself to being df'd for slander.

because i'm a guy, i must hold the television remote control in my hand while i watch tv.

if the thing has been misplaced, i'll miss a whole show looking for it, though one time i was able to survive by holding a calculator.. because i'm a guy, when i lock my keys in the car i will fiddle with a wire clothes hanger and ignore your suggestions that we call a road service until long after hypothermia has set in.. oh, and when the car isn't running very well, i will pop the hood and stare at the engine as if i know what i'm looking at.

Never had a problem with doing that. In fact, I consider it a privilege compared to being faced with the alternative.

Where does the money go?

here is a serious question, asked seriously, where does all the cash that the watch tower receives, end up?.

we take it for granted that much of their income is used to run the various headquarters and branch office buildings, including the materials used in printing their publications.

travel costs would account for a sizable amount of expenditure.

If I'm not mistaken in some country's their tax exempt status requires them disclose some financial records. Would this be limited to just the branch offices outside of the US or the WT as a whole?

I vauguely remember someone posting the financial records of a branch in Canada on a board long ago. Can some extrapolation be made using this information as to how much money is actually flowing through the WT coffers?

I can attest to this personally. All of my dub relatives have no social skills outside of dubdom whatsoever, stunted intellectual growth and no critical thinking skills at all. It's like outside of the KH, they're walking zombie's.

well, if you want to get the top price for something it's best to sell when there is a lot of interest and things are in vouge / in fashion .... with all the recent media attention i reckon it is the perfect time to sell off the royal family!

the americans would probably take them off our hands and i reckon we could get a good price ... texas or something in return.

Don't think us Americans would be interested in taking on another royal family. YOu see, we have our own unofficial very disfunctional royal family already here, the Kennedy's. Don't you remember? Almost all of America came to a halt when little "john john's" plane went missing a few years ago. Oh, what a sad tragedy everyone wailed, as if his unofficial royal bloodline would allow him to live forever.

I hold the same type of pilots' license he did. I wonder if they'd spend as much money or consume as much resources looking for me.

There's some great advice on this topic. I wish I had some of these people's insight when my wife was in the early stages of getting involved in this cult.

Early on the JW will work to divide and isolate your wife from you first. Then, if they're the NAZI elders I've come to expect them to be, they'll paint you as a danger to her spirituality and accuse you of condemning yourself and your kids to death for not accepting "the troof". In their encouragement to "seek the kingdom first" she'll be counseled that you're bad association and that she should have nothing to do with you.

If your kids haven't already been indoctrinated (coerced to be scared to death of anything that doesn't originate within the borg) ensure that the lines of communication are wide open with them and by all means, REFUSE TO LET THEM BE BAPTISED !!!!!! Allow them to have a life that isn't stunted emotionally and intellectually.

Get rich Quick Dubs

dubs are always looking for an angle to make money.their probably no worse than anybody else,but they do like to preach against materialism while chasing the illusive dollar.alot of times its some form of pyramid scheme.amway for one,or the triple charge system(owned and operated by some dubs from califonia)then theres the out and out pyramid scheme.you bring in people who give the pyramid $500.00,after bringing in so many people the guy at the top get`s a $17,000.00 payout,and is free to start again at the bottem of the pyramid.i`ve known a few dubs who have collected their 17grand.the pyramid eventually burns out,and the people at the bottem are left holding the bag(no payout).they lose the money they couldn`t afford to spend to begin with.there are some dubs though,that make a good living at this.what are some of the get rich schemes you`ve witnessed(pun intended)in dubland?...outlaw

One of my dub in-laws was into Shaklee in a big way about 20 years ago. They moved from Shaklee to Avon.

I remember just after I was baptised a brother introduced me too Primerica Financial Services, a pyrimid scheme based upon selling useless and often expensive insurance and other financial products. YOu could actually save more money by instead of buying their products, putting that money in the back and letting it earn interest over time.

I went to their sales pitch and it was much like the average JW meeting at a KH. Company spoken of in glowing terms and "love bombed" by the supposedly successful "financial planners" in the company. Had me hook line and sinker till I thought about it a few days and stopped calling that brother. Last time I saw him he berated me for wasting his time.

There is a site called the rip off report that details what Primerica does. It's simply a multi-level marketing scheme.
