all JWs are ministers and all JWs have the ability to diagnosis and prescribe remedies for anything that ails a fellow JW.
Yeah. Any problem you have can be cured with more service, more meetings, and more readings of WT material.

they knocked her to the ground and one held her down while the other one jumped on her leg and broke it .

WT on "Help those who stray from the flock"? - friends sent us an email
by truthseeker intoday was the first of the two parter series on browbeating the inactive to get back to the meetings.. my other half who has been inactive for a short while received an email from a "friend" who's still in, acknowledging it's been a while since they last made contact and could they stop by to see how we're doing?.
the moment of truth - friends who ignore you and make no effort to contact you when you leave suddenly get a guilt trip over an article in the watchtower.. anyone else here had their door bell rung, received a phone call or email from a "concerned" friend due to this study article, or is it still early days?.

yeah...the wife came home all fired up wanting to give me a synop of that study. She then proceeds to go on and on about how much jah loves me even though I seem to have strayed and that he wants everyont to live through to the new system. How, as a lost sheep, it is their charge to go out and find lost ones.
Didn't have the heart to bust her bubble by telling her that I consider myself neither lost or a sheep to be eventually fleeced by a shepherd.
She still holds out hope, but I'm never going back!

Three years ago, I had my wife all set up to finish a bachelor's degree in business. The money was allocated, she'd already talked to counselors, schedule was set....everything. She'd gotten a two year business degree and was bored with nothing to do, no job, and was wanting to continue. Two weeks later after coming home from a convention, she tells me that she's decided against school, and that she is going to start two studies. I was mortified.....irritated......furious and my attitude showed it. She pretended not to notice and continued right along with her new studies. For awhile she had three going. Then one moved and started studying with someone else in her new area, one other moved out of the area and got pregnant, and the third let her down easy by claiming that her husband wanted to study also, but when they were turned over to a brother ceased studying altogether. Now, she's in my face asking me what does I think she should do. That she wants to start a small business. I'm offering no opinion, no financial backing. If she does it, it'll entirely be on her own. I'm still paying off the loan for her two-year degree and I'm not going to be pulled further down a financial hole with her expectation that I'll just have to live with it if she changes her mind, yet again, and go on another tangent at the drop of the hat at the behest of her WT master. This past Saturdays convention was fraught with experiences encouraging this very thing. More service, pioneering, and studies. They trotted out example after example of people who were either after getting their degree, couldn't find a job and started to pioneer, or those that had forgone education altogether to pioneer. I had a few questions to ask these "examples" to imitate. Where did they go to school to get these degrees? How hard did they try looking for employment in their specialty before they gave up? How are they supporting themselves now? Did the degree they have open any secular doors for them that would otherwise have been closed? What about all the other graduates out there who've after getting their degrees, are in a position to interview the perspective businesses and choose the one they want offering them jobs, rather than being chosen to be interviewed out of a pool of candidates for a job? These are the type of questions you'll never see asked on the stage as they'll get to the core of the real reason of thier failure to make use of educational opportunities rather than the manufactured ones of the WT.

The parallels between the attitudes hardline Islamic clerics and the WT leadership shines through.

TEHRAN, Iran Iran's Supreme Court has lifted the death sentence ordered in the case of a university professor whose sentencing provoked nationwide demonstrations, one of the judges who heard his appeal said Friday.
Hashem Aghajari, a history professor at Tehran's Teachers Training University, had been condemned to death for insulting Islam and questioning clerical rule during a speech in June."The death sentence against Aghajari has been revoked by a majority of votes by the review judges. Three out of four of the judges voted to revoke the sentence," said Ayatollah Mohammad Sajjadi, one of the judges who heard the appeal in the Supreme Court in Qom.
"The decision came after weeks of careful study and scrutinizing of Aghajari's entire speech. Three out of four judges decided that the charges against Aghajari was not compatible with his speech," said Sajjadi.
He said the fourth judge opposed the lifting the sentence.
Hard-line clerics warned this month that they would execute Hashem Aghajari themselves if the court overturned the death sentence. It was not clear Friday what they intended to do.
Aghajari's sentencing last November provoked the biggest student protests in Iran in three years, and highlighted the power struggle between the country's liberals and hard-liners.
The parliament denounced the verdict as "disgusting" and President Mohammad Khatami said it "should never have been issued."
But hard-liners defended the verdict. Conservatives, who dominate government bodies such as the judiciary and police, oppose reformists allied to Khatami, accusing them of undermining the principles of the 1979 Islamic revolution.
In his speech last June, Aghajari infuriated hard-line clerics when he asked why only clerics were authorized to interpret Islam. He said that each new generation should be able to interpret the faith.
Aghajari initially said he would not appeal against the death sentence, challenging the judiciary to carry it out. But his lawyer, Saleh Nikbakht, filed an appeal on Dec. 2 despite his client's objections.

To the tune of "If you're happy and you know it"
If you cannot find Osama, bomb Iraq.
If the markets are a drama, bomb Iraq.
If the terrorists are frisky,
Pakistan is looking shifty,
North Korea is too risky,
Bomb Iraq.
If we have no allies with us, bomb Iraq.
If we think someone has dissed us, bomb Iraq.
So to hell with the inspections,
Let's look tough for the elections,
Close your mind and take directions,
Bomb Iraq.
It's "pre-emptive non-aggression", bomb Iraq.
Let's prevent this mass destruction, bomb Iraq.
They've got weapons we can't see,
And that's good enough for me
'Cos it'all the proof I need
Bomb Iraq.
If you never were elected, bomb Iraq.
If your mood is quite dejected, bomb Iraq.
If you think Saddam's gone mad,
With the weapons that he had,
(And he tried to kill your dad),
Bomb Iraq.
If your corporate fraud is growin', bomb Iraq.
If your ties to it are showin', bomb Iraq.
If your politics are sleazy,
And hiding that ain't easy,
And your manhood's getting queasy,
Bomb Iraq.
Fall in line and follow orders, bomb Iraq.
For our might knows not our borders, bomb Iraq.
Disagree? We'll call it treason,
Let's make war not love this season,
Even if we have no reason,
Bomb Iraq.

There is an "understanding" among Jehovah's people that their once shining star, Michael Jackson, is now disfellowshipped. In fact, I got into a very heated argument with some of my JW relatives a few months ago where they insisted he was disfellowshipped, where I challenged them to come up with written proof and not their wishful speculation that he was. As far as I knew, at one time he shoce to simply not be associated with the Organization anymore.
MY question: IS he or os he not Disfellowshipped? Just what is his affiliate status with regard to the borg?
