the next domino to fall in the society's muddled chronology-based teachings is very likely to be the concept that the "general call" for anointed members of the 144,000 ended in 1935, when the "great crowd" was identified.
after 2+ decades of seeing the number of "memorial partakers" hover in the mid-8000's, when actuarially speaking the number can't really be more than a few hundred at most, the society needs to do something (as in, change the teaching, just as the passing of time necessitated a change to the "1914 generation" teaching).. at our circuit assembly this past weekend, i heard something which makes me think the society may already be laying the groundwork for this "new light".
the public talk included "4 lines of evidence" that we are living in "the last days".
As time goes on, there will be a lot of other 'stuff' they're going to have to dump too! Problem is many now do not even know anything about 1975 etc. And even though it is current information, many have still not heard of the UN connection to the Watchtower Society. Keep em out of college and dumb as door knobs!

but what i'm wondering is if anyone here would remember a story that came out of the brighton, michigan area about 15 - 20 years ago.. apparently a young woman da'ed and then some time later was (if my memory serves me correctly) killed in a car accident.

Back in the late 70's or early 80's a 20 page type written letter from a Box 864, Davison, Michigan 48423 that was sent to many Elders in various Michigan Congregations. I got a copy along with several other Elders that was mailed to their homes. We were told to immediately turn them in, which I did, (of course after I had made a copy of it, which I still have ). The many comments and questions were the thing that got me seriously thinking something is 'rotton in Denmark' so-to-speak, (No offense to any of you Dane's out there).
How they got our addresses, I do not know but if we had questions we could respond to the above address or they also gave an address in England, Vancouver, WA, and Taby, Sweden.
