Purity rings are so retarded

now i'm not saying that you need to live a promiscuous life, but for the love of all that is natural, a young person should be able to test the waters as long as they are safe in doing so.

looking back at the jw mentality of waiting until you get married only blinds the mind and eyes of both parties involved.

i see this mentality creeping into non jw religions as well, with the "purity ring" concept.

As I understand it, if you are a believer in God, fornication (sex before marriage) is condemed. I guess the rest of you would be free to do what you want in this regard. I have no opinion on so called 'purity rings'.

I know of several that went to prison (5 yr. sentence which almost none did the full time) for the draft during the Vietnam War and a couple from WW 1.

Don't miss the resort 'Casa de Compo' a wonderful place! They have a whole (new) Spanish styled city built with great restaurants there along with a great golf course (in beauty). Stay there or at least visit if you can.

Do You Think You Would Be Terribly Missed If You Died?

lately, i have noticed that many suddenly have died or as it is usually expressed, died "unexpectedly" in the local obituaries.. i have come to know of many young people suddenly deciding to kill themselves for whatever reasons.

most that i have known about had either financial or personal issues and sadly, they just gave up.. i wonder if we were suddenly gone, would people take notice?.....

(and don't worry about me.

I would like to think I'd be missed but the reality is that it might only be by a small number of non-JW family, a few at the church, and of course the family dog. And that would be for a relative short time, a few years at most.

It was actually a small thing. When the Society would not let any of their Elders that were public speakers make up their own talks but could only read word for word an outline provided them from the Organization. Heck, my 10 yr old daughter was a pretty good reader. She might as well have given the Sunday lecture.

Appraently they did not trust their own congregation leaders to mouth truth, so why even study?
