Stupid things that happened as a Witness...
by ballistic inanyone got any stupid questions they were asked or things that happened as a witness?.
when i was at school, a kid asked me "if you don't celebrate birthdays, how do you know how old you are?".

Trying to impress a man out in service one day, I mentioned to him that Jehovah's Witnesses spent over 900 million hours in the preaching work last year!
The man promptly replied, 'Thats impossible, there is not that many hours in a year!

Forgiving the Governing Body
by Derrick inas a baptized jehovah's witness, i have been tested over the years by those very ones who claim they are entrusted with my soul.
i'll digress a moment to state that one strong theory that has deeply troubled me over the years, centers around their transformation over a century into a caricaturistic representation of christendom.

State of My Faith
by Amazing insome have wondered about where i come from on the topic of faith.
and, as we all ponder our past jw religion, and the events of the day, i need to take some time to address matters of my faith, as i look for some answers.. when adam was created, god did not wait for adam to play a guessing game and start praying.
rather, god reached out to adam.

I think the experience each of us has had in the WT has a tendency to destroy 'faith' and it is difficult to find answers to the many questions that keep coming up. I certainly do not have all the answers but something that has help me with a lot of the 'sticky' questions can be found in the book entitled DOES GOD BELIEVE IN ATHIESTS? I am not through reading it yet, but what I've looked at seems to help.
I certainly can understand how some struggle with faith, and I don't condemn such ones as it is very hard to actually prove God exists and equally hard to prove he dosen't.

Has the WTS ever made a prediction that came true?
by Leander inthis morning a thought occured to me "has the society ever made a prediction or prophecy that has come true"?.
most of us are familiar with the prophecies or dates the wts has emphasized in the past.
of course all of those predictions never proved to be accurate so the question is, "if this is god's prophetic organization where is the proof"?.

At one of the Elder meetings during the Circuit Assembly the District Overseer ( a representative of the Society ) said that a lot of Brothers seem to be happy if a meeting is cancelled! Well, he certainly was 'right' on that statement!
