Why is there growth in the Jehovah's Witness relig
by kenpodragon inone of the most amazing and disturbing events in human history, has got to be the time of the black plague.
in which people were dying so fast and in such numbers that the authorities were unable to bury them fast enough.
disease in general has been a terrible part of the human race, even today.

Non-JW wanting to Date a JW....some advice?
by Radium inok here is my situation, i met this girl that is a jw....she is not that heavily into her religion but we talked for a long time face to face and she is very hesitant on attempting to start a relationship.
so i have been researching for the past couple of days to undersatnd her religion and see if there is anything that i could use to dissuade her from saying no.
so last night we talked about the ifs, and buts, and such stuff like that.

OHHHH GOD I can relate to the getting married early thing!!!!! All my JW friends got married near 18 years old. I even prayed so I could get married! When everyone around you is having sex (ie non-JWs) and you can't even date without the commitment of marriage what other option do you have?
I am so glad I didn't get married and am now 30 years old. Yea I think I want a family sometime but getting married just because you can't have sex and everyone U know has gotton married at 17 or 18 years of age..............wow!!!! That's a tough pill to take down.
Rethink your situation - you are setting yourself up for a ton of pain and heartache! If she leaves the JWs you're gona be left with no in-laws, uncles, cousins, aunts, brother or sister-in-laws. neices or nephews on her side. Are you ready for that? If she stays you won't ever have sex before marriage. (I'm not gona get into the biblical or moral points about that...it's just a statement). Will you be sexually compateable with her? You won't know. They condemn oral sex, did you know that? Anything other than the misionarry possition is unwrittenly forbidden. (God I seem to be fixated on sex...guess it's been awile LOL) Will she like sex with you? Well, she's never had it before so how could she even compare it to anything.
I say walk away. There are too many complications if you are not a JW. As many have said, you will not be accepted by her family, even if you won the Nobel Peace Prize/ had charm/money/a future/education/were the greatest and most loving careing person in the world..................you are not a JW! The last part, not being a JW, sums it all up.

I hope that's not true, no seizing has been done yet. I'm sure a look at my last trust fund statement would cure their, "how do you afford these things" question.
Started an update thread - I may be going to local "watch dog" news sources if what the lawyers say can be proven.
Thx for anyone who posted and had some concern - I appreciate it.

For those who care.........my borther's lawyers had to go to an appelate court to try to get my brother out of jail. The judge is refusing to even acknowedge their motion to get him out. The appealate court said ok but the county Sherrif has to OK it. I don't really understand all of that but the lawyers visited my brother.
The key witness against my brother (as I mentioned in the last thread, had a huge rap sheet) I find out that this person has yet ANOTHER drug possession charge earlier this year.
The reason why my brother is in jail is because he's going to trial and the judge doesn't like that because it costs the county money. From what the lawyers told him she was supposed to have a hearing on his contempt of court charge. She didn't have any hearing and just threw him in jail anyway. Aren't Judges supposed to follow the law? I'm waiting to talk to the lawyers and see if this can be proven. If so I'm going to one of the local news stations who do the pressure tactics and expose injustices.
This judge also doesn't like the fact that his lawyers went above her to an appelate court to get him out. The sherrifs department has a week to answer the rulling of the appeals court. So he's gona be in there for another week especially since the judge doesn't like him.
To say I'm pissed is an understatement. He's inproperly incarcerated, at a cost of $50 dollars a day, ( yes in Cleveland you ACTUALLY HAVE TO PAY to be in jail ) while:
1. Some convicted criminal who was a witness never showed up to court numerous times and my brother did.
2. Said criminal was supposed to go to jail but for some reason the courts said no because he's supposed to rat someone out.
3. A judge didn't follow the law.
4. Neither this judge or the state, city whoever can be sued!!!!!
5. This convicted criminal is FREE probobly partying and my brother is sitting in jail!
Man i'm f'n pissed!

Two things that have been bothering me are the economic situation in the US and the possible massive confrontation with Iraq. Both seem pretty scary.
I think about the "great depression" we bounced back from that. WWII, we made it out of that one too. Maybe if someone acted against Hitler before it got out of hand the war would never have happened. I try to follow this type of reasoning with Iraq. It's a very hard call to act to prevent a greater wrong, it's a lot easier to defend a possition after the problem is known.
It seems that the government is taking positive steps to get the economy back on tract. Interest rates are extremely low so the housing industry is booming. New houses means new appliances which is good for many industries. New houses means all construction divisions should be doing good. I guess you can think of this as a weeding out time for bad executives which is a good thing.
It's those GD Saudi investors and these exectives who screwed up the stock market. Saudi's pulled trillions out of the market according to CNN. This has direct cooralation to the situation in Iraq and the US stand to removing Sadaam. I also find it interesting that Bush is basically deciding the fate of the UN with this issue. Don't know what to think of that.
I suppose many thought the great depression and WWII were the end of the world.............I guess only broken clocks will tell
