Cornish,
You wouldn't want to be a test case and write the Society asking them if you could be reinstated based on their "new light," would you?
Might be interesting to see how they replied...

as it was considered back in 1995 that due to not holding to the society's view of the literal generation of 1914,i had disasociated myself, now all jehovah,s witnesses dont believe this anymore, are they all appostate for rejecting this important truth, that i had apparently sinned so much in rejecting?????????

few month ago, i have tried the web page of http://www.watchtower.org where you can ask for a visit of a jw.. two weeks after, i received a jw at my home.
i wanted to see how a faithfull witness deal with the bulgarian's case and other topics.. for the blood transfusion he answered me:.
"decline or accept a blood transfusion is a matter of conscience.".
Incroyable!
(Degoutant?)

since i have left the non-truth it seems like sometimes loneliness sets in regardless of what you do do prevent it.. i suppose the main reason it happens for me is that my family still is very involved in the non-truth and i tend to not to have nothing to do with any jws at all, even though my wife has bookstudy and field service at our home.. well i guess that goes with the territory when you make a firm conviction to take a stand against something you know not to be true.. here are some quotes on this subject for anyone who likes quotes.. .
shakespeare, leonardo da vinci, benjamin franklin, and lincoln never saw a movie, heard a radio, or looked at a tv they had loneliness and knew what to do with it.
they were not afraid of being lonely because they knew that was when the creative mood in them would mark.. .
BigJim,
I can't imagine being in your situation. I used to feel lonely in an opposite way. I was the only one in my household actually "serving Jehovah" and so could never hope to have the "privilege" of a book study in my home, dinner parties with the "Friends," etc. I grew discouraged being the spiritual widow with faithless children.
Now it seems you are discouraged being the spiritual widower with faithful family members!
If I recall correctly, you are not DF'd or DA'd? Therefore, you could still lead family studies? Can you lead the family right out alongside you?
In the meantime, perhaps taking off into the sunset on book study nights to do something for yourself that you really enjoy -- you know, something like what you were always gonna do once paradise got here? RCat is right. Some worldly friends are likely to be just the ticket!!!
best to you,

last night in chat, just as i was about to log off and go to bed, a person unknown to me came in.
i did not recognize the name, so i introduced myself.
with me in chat was another new person, who identified him/her-self as a 19 yr old da'd person on the east coast (us).. after the initial introductions, the new person stated he/she was a therapist working with a troubled 15 yr old witness girl who wanted to quit the religion over the objections of her mother.
Wasa,
I thought to myself that the answer to COMF's question was: "A 15 yr. old who's just tried to kill herself!" (Even JW parents realize that this means SERIOUS help is needed.)
Whether or not the therapist was for real, I don't know, but I'm doubtful, too.

i wanted to give an update to all those who kindly offered suggestions on how to deal with my jw son's ultimatum' "go tell the elders, or i will".. these last few days have been an intense crash course in life for me.
having experienced my firstborn son, whom i gave birth to, wiped his behind, dried his tears, and helped to grow to adulthood with loving support, threaten to turn me over to the "authorities" (elders) for wrong thinking and wrong speech, has been a deeply disturbing experience.
learning the truth about the "truth" was shocking, but this is just a crying tragedy.. after he found a short email from a board friend, which inadvertantly got into our regular email box instead of my private one, i was given a week to go to the elders.
Truman,
I am so glad to read your report. I was thinking of you earlier today and realized that it was Thursday, and too soon to expect any news until evening. Thanks for posting so promptly.
I, too, would still use extreme caution with your son. I don't like the fact that he showed the e-mail to a brother/elder from another congregation. It could make things sticky if this becomes known to Brother Kindly. Be aware, please.

from http://www.greatcrowd.com/159ubb/forum22/html/000167.html.
he gave us some statistics about how much the occurrences of random violence have escalated over the recent years, and it's terrible.
something like 99% of us will be exposed to, or become a victim of a violent crime.
I am a woman, too, and generally just try to use good sense so as not to put myself in a position where I could be in danger.
The only time I EVER let my own perception of possible danger be overridden was when out in field service!!!!
Is there any other religion on the face of this earth that harps so much on how dangerous the 'world' out there really is, and then proceeds to INSIST THAT ITS MEMBERS GET RIGHT OUT THERE AND PREACH TO EVERYONE???

JanG,
I have to agree with the majority here. The interference that went on at H2O was a real turn-off for me. I lurked both there and here in the months before I left the Society and even posted there a few times under a different name than I use here. I did ask questions as a newbie there and never felt threatened or abused, but I did see some rantings from Rick that turned me off completely.
You make mention in your post that "here they are called 'assistants'" not moderators. I think a call went out from Simon for volunteers because of the growth here and many who responded to his thread said, "Please don't do it, Simon!" Since those who were interested in helping him peruse the board for out-of-line posts were to respond to his e-mail address, I'm not sure what's been done on this account. Simon? Could you please clear this up? ARE there any 'assistants' yet? (She asks as she just notices new buttons on the tool bar...hmmmmm.....)
Personally, I enjoy the freedom of this board to get wicked or off-color or just plain angry once in a great while, just like happens in real life. And I'm perfectly capable of apologizing for my own excesses when I see that they have been offensive to some. As I am perfectly capable of IGNORING posts from certain ones who -- in my PERSONAL opinion -- never seem to have anything valuable to say. WITHOUT EXCLUDING THEM!!! (I merely scroll down?!?)
The Forum Director and moderators at H20 have had an opportunity to observe a site that works and to take lessons from it. If their objective differs from Simon's then they have every right to impose their rules or guidelines.
I appreciate your big heart, JanG, but I think you cannot compel others to go post where they no longer wish to participate. If H20 sinks under its own heavy-handedness, so be it.

can you beat these easy ideas?.
to advertise "watchtower society hides child molestors www.silentlambs.org" try the following:.
get a piece of cardboard or other paper, print on it the message in large red letters, place in back of your car-truck-van window.
Hey, Slip!
It should look like Outnfree's did when he went around.
