a simple " me" if you dont want to say more--or a short explanation about who is shunning you and how long has this been going on.. i'll set the ball rolling: my daughter--her husband and children; my younger son --no contact from them for 40 years...because i left their religion.. Mother shuns me 37 years now as well as an uncle and his wife.

When I first read this I thought “sheesh, how could they hate so long” but then I realised my own family shunning is 25+ years.
So for me every relative, whether children, siblings or whatever share in this hate cult towards me.
How sad for them that they are in bondage, i pray that they will eventually know true christian freedom.

i think i once posted some of this on h2o, but there are many new ones who have joined since then.. i first encountered jw's at the age of 9. it wasn't in the door-to-door work, however.
My dear late wife (Mrs Ozzie) had a good friend who was a former Gilead missionary who continually was looking for “new truths” in the pages of the Watchtower magazine. So she earnestly read ‘between the lines’ looking for new insights, being ready to announce to us less gifted some new ‘gem’ straight from on high.

so, we had this meeting with 3 elders ( larry, moe and curly) my uncle who is the lawyer sat in the room and stayed quiet, and fact for 40 minutes we let them talk.

15 years ago there were 5 congregations now there is only one and it is still struggling.
congregations closing their doors doesn’t mean business is good.
it looks like this last one to fold had no young witnesses, they either left the religion or moved.
