  reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

  In the recording of the Annual Meeting I was particularly interested in the remarks of GB member Samuel Herd.

  Immediately before announcing the change in reporting requirements, he said: “our ministry involves much more than ‘counting time’ “

  This is exactly the point that former GB member Raymond Franz was making before his expulsion from both the GB and Bethel.

  (See his book ISOCF pp656-666)

  For this ‘insight’ Raymond Franz was expelled from the inner reaches of the Watchtower.

  Yet his insight has become “new light”.

  Did their “Jehovah” give fresh insight to this new GB or perhaps it was just a ‘slip of the tongue’ to Raymond Franz ?

  let's get the fun started and put in our votes for how far down the pumpkin patch lord of the fries will fall in november.. for those keeping score, last month he started at 457 patrons, did some begging and managed to bump those numbers up to 478, but as of this writing he's down to 439.. so, how well do you think the grift will continue this month?

  The truth is he is/was too weak to actually go out and live the life he wanted. He is/was too lazy to go his own way and earn a living without the grift and his friends/marriage

  This got me curious, what was his occupation when he lived in the UK, when he was a JW ?

  i assume he must have worked at something at one time. After all, he has only been a novice elder for a short time and presumably the local BOE must have been satisfied that he was ‘of good repute’ and ‘not lazy’.

  Anyway, just curious. What a drama-filled life he has made!

  I said that cause I really thought the number would be higher than just -20. Yes I'm kind of disappointed how stupid his worshippers are.

  Me too, I'm finding it incredulous ( is that a French word ? 😀) that someone could get a few hundred people to cough up hard-earned dollars to support very little YT content.

  we had an elder that was hung up on mens haircuts he had a real thing about how short mens hair should be and even told one bro off for parting his hair down the middle.. even told one bro to shave off his sideburns.. a c.o who was paronoid about sound always telling the bro in charge off.. .

  a d.o who orded the attendants to remove crying babys from assemblys on more than a few occations...hans hubler for those that know him..

  The ‘hangups’ back when I was in? ‘Modesty’ in dress - where attractive/stylish women were hounded from time to time because ‘somebody’ (with an unattractive figure no doubt) had an issueabout somebody’s appearance.

  Oh yes, that sure takes me back !

  Here in the land Downunder back in the1970’s and 1980’s we had a D.O. who had a ‘thing’ about the length of the sisters’ skirts. At circuit assembly rehearsals he would check the length of skirts by standing below the stage level and if he could see up a skirt, then the embarrassed wearer (sister) would be told to dress in something more appropriate.

  I’m sure those of us from the land Downunder would remember him and if I said the initials NB you’d remember him without me spelling out his name.

  In ‘real life’ the whole family had some hangups.
