You're so right,ISP, I had missed the 'gem'. I guess the Writing Dept didn't see the significance of this quote when they decided to use in their article. Yjey obviously intened to show that'experts' agree that the Internet is harmful, without 'twigging' to the fact that thesubject of the quote, namely those sexually repressed and limited in their lives, actually applies to untold thousands within the New World Society.

It seems the point of Mac's rather lengthy epistle is that the Society have stated that the bros and sis don't need to be looking at other web sites for info on JWs. Other sites provide inaccurate information and are unreliable. However the "official" web site of the Society is accurate and authoritative. It alone should be referred to.
Unfortunately, it is not up-to-the-minute with the latest "kight" of revealed truth, as in the "generation" thing. What it states in the quotes Mac gives, is no longer JW teaching.
Therefore, it is not a reliable site to go to. That seems to be the conclusion.

I found it significant that it was not until the final paragraph and for just one sentence is this point made:
"To that end, meditate on Jehovah's supreme act of love in providing the ransom for you." (p24)
I would have thought that this should have received priority in any article that deals with Christian salvation. But, then again, the problem is that those with negative feelings cannot have a personal relationship with Christ except through and with the organisation (or so we are told!).

Interesting but I suggest the Borg is already well aware of this. Fascinating, nonetheless.
One cautionery remark: the figs in the Annual Report have never been claimed to be all inclusive i.e. there have always been statistics omitted for one reason or another. For example, countries that are under ban submit incomplete reports. So there will be fluctuations from year to year for that reason.
There is, however, something that "supports" your thought, and that is that the number of aged members of the remnant are not decreasing at the rate you would expect for aged members of the community.
Another thing that supports your thrust is that the new members of the GB are all apparently from the replacement "class' on the anointed. I say this because of their relatively young age. I wonder how they were individually treated in their congregations when they first started partaking of the emblems!

I have wondered about this for many years, even when giving talks in the congregation and at assemblies/conventions about the events in heaven around 1914.
The way I understand it, after Jesus was enthroned in 1914, he went to war against Satn the Devil and the demons and he (Jesus) prevailed. Satan and his demon hordes were cast out of heaven to wage awr against the holy ones (anointed remnant) in earth, because he knew his time was short.
The problem I had with understanding this, is that the Gentile Times eneded in October 1914. Satan must have been cast out of heaven after that date. After that time he fomented trouble on the earth. But, wait a moment, when did WW1 start? Wasn't it around the middle of 1914? This means the demons under Satan concocted a diversionary tactic in the form of WW1 to take attention off the invisible kingdom's establishment in heaven, because WW1 started EARLIER than the conclusion of the Gentile Times. How logical is that? It would be more logical for WW1 to start AFTER the end of the Gentile Times and AFTER the Kingdom's establsihment.
Don't you think so?
Of course, logic has nothing to do with it. In the past it concerned me, but now it doesn't because I don't doubt that the 1914 chronology and its significance are suspect, at least.
