Talking about age I am approaching 76 years
Seems i’m ahead of you but only just.
Methinks we can still teach the young ‘uns a thing or two, eh?

i remember having read somewhere, but i cannot find it anymore, that it is possible to debunk the 1914 calculus using only jw publications, like "insight on the scriptures" (chronologies) for example.. do you have any sources about that to suggest to me?.
thanks..

first new zealand's dictator resigned and now nicola sturgeon the first minister of scotland has announced her intention to go.. nobody is certain exactly what the trigger was but there are plenty of possibilities.
the final straw may have been her 'gender recognition' act that would have made it possible for anybody 16 and over to legally change their sex on a whim.
the vast majority of scots were opposed but she battered the legislation through holyrood regardless.

after being around this site for 21 years now, i've heard many recount their stories and feelings.
many times i can immediately relate but other times they seem to have had a very different experience with the church.
i'm sure that is because not only are all of us different in personality, but congregations and family dynamics vary as well.

Hi Jan
Joe , l am sorry to say that l am not familiar with yours and Slimboy's assertion that the activity rates of JWs , compared to other religious traditions, are exceptional.
I too share the Anglican tradition. My wife, Mrs Ozzie and I became lay ministers after 50 years as dubs, then leaving and latterly doing bible college
I’ve gottasay that my experience is that Anglicans find it hard to comprehend the control that the WT has over its adherents, the extent to which that control extends.
The experiences related on this forum may seem bizarre to outsiders but are real to so many.
i’ve been around this forum for 21 years and have witnessed so many testimonies of abuse by the WT. At times it reads like an instant replay but nonetheless the experiences are real. The abuse and anguish are real. My wife (Mrs Ozzie) and I have felt it on a deeply personal level.
IMO you’ve got to have been there, to have walked in their shoes to really understand.
Blessings
Ozzie 🍷
