This is soooo sad for our bro's and sis' who have lost loved ones due to their stand against blood. They must feel quite cheated by the Society's changes to this issue.
How do you explain to someone who has lost their child like this, that "oops" we had it wrong.

I am so sick of trying, trying, trying. I wish I had felt something like you say you have. I am even beginning to doubt the existence of Jehovah,... let alone the HS. I look around my congregation and see only a handful of people that seem sincere in there spirituality. There is so much gossip and hypocracy among many who are supposed to be more spiritual or christian than me.
Our "spirituality" is measured by how many mags we give out, how many bible studies we have, how many hours of field service we do, how many meetings we've missed. It's all in the numbers. Who's got the biggest stack of magazines to pick up from the book counter. Ugh!! It's all just one big showy display.....it sickens me.
i have pioneered for over four years.
i have three children and a wife who at times has severe back problems.
i have worked two jobs just to stay ahead of the bills and provide for my family.
Hey! Jehovah knows what is truly in your heart. Don't worry about the comments of men who are only interested in the Congregation statistics.
Show your family the love they need.
simon i'm sorry i don't mean to rain on your parade but you have to remember the society and your local elders watch for stuff like that.
this is a very liberal board as far as discussions go and forever thankful for that, but you have to be careful because you could face a jd meeting.
i'm sure everyone is well aware that some posts on this board just wouldn't go over to well with the society.
It is bizarre, but there aren't many other religions that will ostracize you so completely if you dare to question anything. I've seen it happen. A bro' or sis' raises some doubt or questions the Society's direction and all of a sudden they are like a marked person. They are avoided like they have some contagious disease, or something.
We are supposed to make sure of what we believe in, but if we question anything... lookout. It's a strange contradiction, don't you think?

That's an interesting comment. I know I've always found it difficult to deal with not being able to talk to ones who have chosen to leave the Truth. I've had friends leave in the past, and it breaks my heart to have to ignore them. I know they're not bad people, they just can't deal with the lifestyle we are expected to live. And it is a difficult way to live. Isn't the fact that they're not gonna make it through Armageddon, punishment enough. It just seems so unchristian to treat anyone like that. Jehovah knows what is in their heart. Why should we be judging them?!
with me, i use my own common sense..i will try to smell a rat, but smelling and seeing one for sure is two different things.. ozie person huh?

I have never admitted this to anyone before, but in all my years as a JW I have never once felt the force of the Holy Spirit in my life. I don't understand why. I attend the meetings regularly, I do everything I am supposed to do to be a "good" christian and yet I NEVER feel good enough. I always feel like I am being judged by everyone around me. I feel like I am being watched and they're just waiting for me to stumble.
I just don't get it. Why don't I feel the Holy Spirit in my life?

Hi all. I've been lurking for a while, and feeling a little guilty about being here. You know, the ol' internet is evil thing. It's been a big topic down our way recently.
How do you guys all justify it to yourselves (getting on the net)? On one hand we are encouraged to "make sure of all things" and on the other we are told to "trust in Jehovah". It's a real internal struggle for me. What do you guys think?
