As opposers, we have every right to go. I plan on bringing some popcorn and nachos. My boyfriend and I will enjoy watching some drunk men eat, drink and be merry for about an hour. Fun times, indeed!

"TO ALL CONGREGATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES
Re: Donations at circuit events by debit or credit card
Dear Brothers:
At Deuteronomy 16:15, Jehovah commanded those celebrating the festival of booths: "You must become nothing but joyful." Similarly, circuit assemblies and special assembly days are always joyous occasions because of Jehovah's abundant blessing. In view of this, many show appreciation by making voluntary contributions at the assembly.
As in previous years, voluntary contributions can be placed in the contribution boxes either in cash or by check made payable to the circuit. However, a new arrangement for making donations by debit or credit card has been approved for congregations that hold their circuit events in Assembly Halls. Locations for making debit or credit card donations will be announced at the assembly.
We pray Jehovah's rich blessing on your preparations to attend the circuit assembly and special assembly day programs for the 2012 service year.
Your brothers,
Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses"

Should members of an organization feel dependent on a group of imperfect men?
by I_love_Jeff inwhen it comes to "everything we could ever need in a spiritual sense," stated by a group of imperfect men, do the jehovah' witnesses feel comfortable knowing that?
does it make them feel solely dependent on these men since they satisfy their "spiritual needs"?
does this quote make them feel limited in interpreting unclear/questionable passages within the bible that some jws may have at times?.

When it comes to "everything we could ever need in a spiritual sense," stated by a group of imperfect men, do the Jehovah' Witnesses feel comfortable knowing that? Does it make them feel solely dependent on these men since they satisfy their "spiritual needs"? Does this quote make them feel limited in interpreting unclear/questionable passages within the Bible that some JWs may have at times?
I understand that they refer to Matthew 24:45-47 of the slave's subsequent responsibility for providing "food at the proper time" but could it be possible that this applies to each Christian and his or her responsibilities to become fishers of men (Matthew 4:19) and 'feed' the "fish" God's Word? Possible interpretation? Does Jesus explicitly tell us who he is talking about in Matthew 24:45-47?
Do you understand the point I am trying to make? Are they open to interpretation or does the "slave class" force one interpretation down their throat? Are they made to be good little sheep without expressing free thought? Sounds like programming a robot to do what you want.

Should a Jehovah's Witness allow an imperfect person to come between him/her and Jehovah?
by I_love_Jeff in"what are some ways in which you might develop such loyalty?
one would be by cooperating with your local congregation elders.
(hebrews 13:17) recognizing that christ is the appointed head of the christian congregation, mature christians are loyal to those appointed "to shepherd the congregation of god.

"What are some ways in which you might develop such loyalty? One would be by cooperating with your local congregation elders. (Hebrews 13:17) Recognizing that Christ is the appointed Head of the Christian congregation, mature Christians are loyal to those appointed "to shepherd the congregation of God." (Acts 20:28) How inappropriate it would be to challenge or undermine the authority of appointed elders! You should also feel a sense of loyalty to "the faithful and discreet slave" and the agencies that are used to disseminate spiritual "food at the proper time." (Matthew 24:45)" 8/15/2000 pg. 29
If a person feels a sense of loyalty to any human or human agency, is the likelihood of that person being unable to rightly divide truth from error increased? With this understanding in mind, is their interpretational authority also severally limited? Please explain your answer. Thank you.
In a religious context, shouldn't a Christian feel a sense of loyalty to God and His Son but not to anyone else?
We should appreciate what others do in their service and for the brotherhood of Christians, but we owe nothing but love to one another (Romans 13:8).

I posted this question on YA! for the jehovah's Witnesses about an hour ago and only received one answer. How would you (Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses) respond to this question. Inquiring minds......Thanks
Is there any evidence that those who advanced certain erroneous beliefs in the first century REQUIRED anyone else to accept their views?
One example of this involves a misinterpretation on Peter's part about what Jesus said concerning the apostle John (John 21:20-23). Another example is where the disciples thought Jesus' appearance after his death meant that he would be 'restoring the kingdom to Israel' at that time (Acts 1:6-7). Did the followers of Christ INSIST that others accept the erroneous views on these subjects because of their authority or position?
Here is a quote found in the Watchtower Magazine regarding "personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding" and the "slave's" position.
Watchtower Magazine 8/1/2001 page 14 par. 8:
First, since "oneness" is to be observed, a mature Christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned. He does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and "the faithful and discreet slave."
According to the above quote, the Watchtower seems to be strongly implying that there is a mandatory requirement to accept their views (regardless of certain past/present erroneous beliefs).
With that said, is there a difference between biblical accounts such as these (John 21:20-23, Acts 1:6-7 for example) used by Jehovah's Witnesses and the interpretational errors sometimes made in Watchtower publications? In other words, did the apostles REQUIRE (as you imply in your own teachings ((see Watchtower quote above)) submission from others regardless of their mistakes.
Does the "slave class" truly make it a requirement (even after making countless errors) for them to refrain from "personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding" and accept the rules of the "slave class" w/out questioning or otherwise suffer the consequences (shunning, warnings, disfellowshipping ect.). Did the apostles do the same thing?

A particular Jehovah's Witness on YA! has successfully deleted our account for asking FAIR questions and giving FAIR answers. With enough evidence, which we do have in our possession, will the Elders in Leaderville, Colorado hear us out? Do they listen to non Jehovah's Witnesses? SB22 has actually admitted to do such an act to others. Here is her response to the questioner (I saved all the notes because I had a feeling the question would get deleted!!! of course, it did)
SB22 response on Yahoo answers (here is her profile-http://answers.yahoo.com/activity?show=cR8UZdi1aa)
"Perhaps you're blocked because of your comments, do they abide by YA TOS do they
violate YA TOS. I've been here 8yrs & I know that no member has authority to
remove individual's questions or answers. But ALL members have the
responsibility to report abuse. Don't you report abuse? You should if you see it
happening. Especially abuse that "calls out other members" & insults them, or is
harassment, impersonation, rant, etc. Do you think that maybe you are violating
YA rules & its not JW's who are "deleting your questions/answers"? I'll ask you
straight out, have you considered this a possibility? I'm not trying to be
argumentative here, I just see that you're frustrated & unclear on how things
work on YA. I get falsely reported all the time (especially lately) but a simple
appeal can reinstate your questions if they weren't in violation. If they
weren't, that's all you have to do, if they're not reinstated, then YA
moderators feel the content violates their rules. Not the JW's. Jehovah's
Witnesses answer sincere questions asked about us specifically or about the
Bible or God, & we usually reference scriptures. But we have no special
authority to remove anyone's posts, even if it DOES violate the rules of YA.
Just something you might want to keep in mind, you don't want to blame someone
for something they didn't do, we have no way of doing what you are claiming
here. You said that "To blame it on others is just flat out deceptive." You
think? So do I! I personally report abuse that is outright vicious, calling out
other members, insulting them directly, posting false accusations about us!
Posting rant or hate speech against JW's! Misrepresenting, impersonating or
accusing JW's directly with false claims, harassing members, antisemitism,
promoting violence or aggression, stalking & other outright violations. So do
other respectable YA members! 99.9% of the time you spend here is targeting
JW's? Can you say that 99.9% of that time is respectfully asking/answering
questions about JW's? This is not a venue to debate with others, to bash other's
beliefs, its not even for chatting with others who hate JW's too. Or anyone
else. I've seen a lot of abuse, especially on R&S that has nothing to do with
JW's, you know what? I report that too. Its abuse. Its unacceptable. I like YA,
but I dislike very much the people on here who think they can use this site to
personally bash others. Its a Q/A format to respectfully share knowledge on
various subjects. Maybe you can review YA guidelines & it'll help with any
misconceptions you have about how YA works & may also alleviate any paranoia of
JW's removing your Q/A's, we really don't own YA! I can't speak for others, but
when I see outright vicious, disrespectful remarks made against my faith, I
report it for abuse! But YA moderators are the ones to decide if it was falsely
reported or warrants removal. So if your answers were removed, its because YA
has the right to do so. Why not ask them this question, I'm sure they can
explain their TOS, maybe you'll respect them more than you do JW's. Sorry you
think so badly of JW's, but if you post things like this, blaming members of a
religion specifically for things, then its no wonder so many JW's block you!
'Hello Me' is referring to me. Trolls are going thru my acct & reporting
everything I've ever said on YA. I answered in the art category a lot & I admit
I used to get SO annoyed with tweens texting their questions, like "am i prety
luk me pics rate" posted in the fine art section. It was almost as bad as how JW
haters post their rant in R&S now, & Hello me is correct, I got so annoyed with
it that I started answering all these idiotic questions with "use a spell
checker" & I even called a few idiots. My bad. I haven't done that in a LONG
time. But apparently the trolls don't care, they are going back thru 8 years of
my account & targeting me right now, anything & everything that they can report
they do. I don't even appeal those answers because I know that isn't abiding by
YA rules. They are right! It was an old habit, but I'm pretty sure that I
haven't offended them so much that they are reporting me now, its probably the
same trolls not being able to find real violations so they report the most
frivolous things. Their real intentions? Who knows. Those answers I didn't
appeal, they're just old remarks I made that aren't important. If they want to
waste their time on my 8yr old answers about spell checkers in the art section
they can knock themselves out! ski, sorry but I don't know what you're preaching
at me."This was a question I put up 2 days ago and got deleted for no good reason:
"Our group plans on contacting the Elders in Leadville Colorado and giving them
sufficient evidence regarding a particular Jehovah's Witness who is not following the
rules mentioned in the Elders Manual. It is a sad situation indeed but must me
addressed in order to actually help this individual understand the proper way to
submit and obey the rules she must go by. The Bible gives explicit rules the
Jehovah's Witnesses must follow and this individual MUST obey those rules or be
reprimanded for not doing so. Logical sense, don't you think?"SB22 lives in Leadville, Colorado and we need to find her Elders and give them the evidence we have collected informing them of her bad behavior on YA! Answers. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly. Ultimatley, I would like to have her account suspended, she has over 40,000 points and has been a member for 8 years. We had 10,000 points, now I have to start over. We spent countless days answering questions to help those witnesses who wanted to break free from the chains and now it's all gone!! We worked really hard this past year and half, in just a click of a button all of it got deleted unfairly. I am very disturbed about it BUT at least I gained knoweledge and know how to approach them in a much more intelligent way. You guys on this forum have helped me so much in understanding the JW way of thinking. I would like to say to Jeff, the love of my life, that I love you beyond words and you have especially helped me gain knowledge in this subject matter !!! Not all JWs are beast like creatures with bad attitudes BUT most of the ones on YA! need to change their unChristian behavior toward others. My friends, if you have any question I can ask on YA!, please let me know. We plan on setting up a Facebook account and would like to add anyone on here that's interested. Thank you kindly, C
