Drug Legalization
by Euphemism inokay, well there haven't been enough heated political debates here recently, so let's start another one... j/k, mods!
seriously, if i could get intelligent replies to this thread, rather than hyperactive fulminations, that would be much preferred.. my question is, how do you feel about the decriminalization of recreational drugs?
whatever you feel about the morality of using drugs, and taking as fact that the abuse of drugs is harmful, we're currently spending billions of dollars a year in a losing war on drugs, and in the process creating a whole criminal substructure that thrives on selling smuggled goods.. so here are my suggestions.. 1. allow the sale of recreational drugs to adults, exclusively at licensed and regulated establishments (along the lines of liquor stores).. 2. require that all drugs be carefully labeled with the exact amounts of all active ingredients, as well as a comprehensive list of all inactive ingredients, just as is required of pharamaceuticals.

GWB, I like the Chinese, and they LOVE to watch US politics (as comedy of course). Soon we'll have Arnold over California instead of over his co-stars (he's a traditional guy). And still no new court appointees accepted by Congress. Polititians are so petty.

U.S. Search Teams Find Buried Iraqi Jets
by hawkaw ininteresting story seeing as part of the surrender in gulf war 1, iraq was not suppose to have these and it is interesting as to just how far the regime was willing to hide stuff.

Abaddon, Please reread my messages. I never said that Iraq was invaded because the Kurds were gassed. My point was that Iraq had the gas and did not hesitate to use the gas WHICH and I assume you agreee, the gas is WMD. That point should be clear.
Also, I am not enamored of my govt's lack of attention to the economy. There, now you know. I have a disagreement with our beloved President. However, I am supportive of what is a good thing to do --- free up the natural resources for the Iraqi people --- Which BTW the oil for food UN sponsored fiasco was supposed to accomplish --- but failed.
What is it that you think was going fine in Iraqi daily lives --- the mass graves? Hey, somebody had to dig those and isn't employment a good thing? Or the torturing of innocent people just to make sure the possible coup planners didn't get away and SH could sleep at night? That was an interesting step in national security, eh? Or maybe the raping and disfiguring of women AND children? Were these things okay... Ya know what, even w/o the original agreement ( you continue to ignore UN 1441) of UN countries [which we had then didn't have because of their (Russian and French) own spineless (sorry for the insult to any invertebrates) self -interest in Iraqi $$$ and oil], w/o all of that --- showing that people do matter, that's worth fighting about.
BTW since you are so quick to blame US support for SH for atrocities I'd like to know what the Russians and French were doing as they supported the horrors conducted by the SH family "the family that slays together stays together."

Everyone: The guy was obviously slammed onto the car because he had gone limp. Ever try to heft a king sized soaking wet bedspread? That would weigh even less than the arrested guy, but man it is heavy. And if I wanted to place said wet object on anything I'd have to throw my weight behind the heft and probably land on the table or whatever on top of it. You cannot heft and gently place a limp mostly water object (such as a human being).
What I saw in the videotape was a definite hefting of the arrested guy. I've asked other folks and get agreement that the handcuffed guy had to be hefted like wet laundry and there's no soft landing if you're hefted laundry or an arrested- limp- guy. So the officer was close enough to get his testicles grabbed and squeeeeezzzzed. My non-violent husband would've killed (which shows the cop did show restraint) not punched the guy. And if you are grabbed like that I imagine that reaction time is like minus-1second. Also restraint is relative to the situation, which is why the jury was hung.
His police department made him look guilty by firing him to save their own nuts from being squeezed in a lawsuit. The jury was obviously glad to have a hung verdict. Hung jury?

And You JW Wives Thought the Organization Was Too Repressive....Read This !
by xjw_b12 inwe have all read many posts here as to how women felt they had to be submissive in the organization.
how would you like to be a member of first christian fellowship for eternal sovereignty?
ravenna, ohio - a woman pulled over for breast-feeding her baby while driving on the ohio turnpike was shown on videotape at her trial wednesday refusing to cooperate with troopers until she called her husband for permission.. catherine nicole donkers, 29, also would not stand or speak as she defended herself in portage county municipal court until her husband gave her permission from the first row of the audience.. the first day ended with donkers finishing her questioning of the trooper.

Didn't you always wonder how come the WTS could never explain the Religion (or tradition) of Leah and Rachels family? They had household gods and relished the wise monthly blood of women and respected child birth. They saw that patriarchal religions were developed by nomadic tribes ...like the Hebrews ... who viewed womens physical cycles as problematic. That mind numb breeder who lets her husband make her decisions needs to wake up to her gender (and her daughters) If that child was given to some other parents she'd do much better in life and worship the judge who changed her life.

Just Got Off The Phone With My Sister..................
by Mary injust got off the phone with my sister.............she started talking about an ex-elder in her congregation and his "apostate" attitude, so i asked her what she considered "apostacy".
she says that's when you openly talk against the troof........i said "the bible says it's when someone denies jesus as having come in the flesh.".
anyway, we started talking about the pedophile problem within the organization and the people who have been disfellowshipped for speaking out about it.

AARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Isn't this all so like the borg. The elders are so f***ing protective of one another. Here's one of my stories... Another sister and I had gone to dinner w/ an elder friend of ours. We had a few margaritas. Went home to his place where his wife (also a friend to both of us sisters) was sleeping (she wasn't well so hadn't gone with us). Soooo .... we were making too much noise in the living room ... elder wife woke up and told us to be quiet (loud giggles). So we went into the master bedroom and elder friend pushed sister (not his wife) onto the bed and while on top of her he was madly tickling her and she started getting mad and squirming, she said get off... he didn't she got louder complaining. Elder's wife came in and grabbed sister friend's arm from under her husbands body and told me to get her outta the house. sister friend was real pissed off because she hadn't done anything wrong and Elder's wife had been a good friend of her's too.
So I happened to mention this whole thing to another elder friend and he said I needed to go to my elders and tell them. Phew...right? So I did. And with my husband beside me I faced my friends and told the story, sister friend was also visited to get her story. So we talked about that for 2 minutes and then the elders asked if elder wife had a drinking problem (which she did) and we never ever discussed the sexual harrassment of sister friend again. BTW this Elder friend had faced 2 sexual harrasssment lawsiuts (settled out of court)at his business, but nobody wanted to hear about that. I was mad and on my way out (of the borg)anyway, but this entire incident did NOT effect this brothers prestige in the cong, circuit or district. Nice, HUH?
PS eventually he was caught in adultery with a regular pio he'd met on a motorcycle trip. Elder's wife conveniently died. Oh yeah... he did have to step down.. but people STILL cowtowed to him. SHEEESH

SixofNine, I see you've already mentioned the bonobo , so I think you'll enjoy this quote from Dr.Susan Block of her Institute for the Erotic Arts in Beverly Hills (also Ridley, 23) " ' Liberate your inner bonobo,' she urges ' you can't very well fight a war while you're having an orgasm." She also "pledges to share her profits ... [for] bonobo conservation."
So now everyone can mix conservation with sisterhood bonding and save the planet
