Satanus, If this is what the Iraqi farmers have for a future.... It just seems so wrong. How do seeds get outlawed? I know that the genetically altered seeds might get patented. But I also know that I can save seeds and grow whatever I want on my farm. Maybe it's about produce getting purchased by world wide companies? I don't know.

proving its the true religion bec the bible says it will happen (shows me scriptures).
also told it doesnt happen with any other religious group - usually people just quietly leave and make no fuss - further proof that ths is the true religion.. i asked about all the dates where predictions were made, eg 1914, 1975. was told there were some articles loosly talking the 'possibility' of something happening, but the wt never said it definitely would - how could it, these are just ordinary men, not profits.

Holly , How fantastic! You have touched some frightening chord in your JW friend and she can't handle it. As long as she felt she had the secrets of the universe to disperse she was happy to "help" you along. But as you questioned the emperor's new clothes her mind said DANGER DANGER. In her mind you are doomed. If the WTS's blinders remain in effect she will continue in her own personal paranoia "I must not see I must not see... the truth."
Who knows? Maybe your friend won't be able to forget your discussions. And just think of the attention she's getting from the elders right now... they must make damn sure you haven't left any satanic(worldly) dust on her.

If you've been around JWs for a long time then paranoia is normal. They constantly look for signs of demons and worldliness. Everything becomes suspect at some point. Sheesh a more superstitious group you won't find.

Whoa... Canada w/o snow and South Texas gets 2 days of snow, the Panhandle is warm!!!!!! This is the stuff the WTS should publish. We did pioneer in EauClaire Wisconsin so I know what REAL winter is like... unreal. But we got our snow on Christmas Eve. and w/in 2 days it was mostly gone. Now thats how to enjoy snow. In town, children and adults (and teenagers) were out all night in the streets. An old Polish Nun was making snow angels with my friend Michelle and her daughter (they're neighbors). One guy got his skiis out and skiied on the hwy. YEah really. There were NO accidents...NONE zip nada... That kind of happiness doesn't wash off...

For years I have been hoping beyond hope that Michael was innocent. I guess AFTER THIS TRIAL i'LL HAVE TO FACE WHATEVER THE OUTCOME REALLY IS AND LIVE WITH IT. Anyway I wonder what member of his family got him started? Between his father's desire for fame at any cost and his mother's dubism --- sheesh--- are we at all surprized at his inexperience in human relations? Don't get me wrong. If MJ has molested kids he should go to jail. I view his addiction to plastic surgery as his punishment for himself. I've read somewhere that "man-boy-

Hillary Clinton would be a good choice for President. I think that she learned quite a bit about what is possible to accomplish politically from the WhiteHouse and what is not. I rememeber her disastorous health care plans; and I'm sure she does too. She may wear her disdain too clearly on her sleeves for the current administration. But she'll learn from that too. The DNC would be well advised to understand that middle America would vote for Hillary Clinton because of her "stand by her man" attitude. Why? Because that's what millions of women have done in silence and to see the First Lady not succomb to the easy way out ie., denigrating her husband publically or divorcing him (which we all would understand) But no she took the hard way and the way to endear her to American women. She stood firm and she has prospered. Isn't that what we all want and admire in a President?
Condaleeza Rice, PhD. and current Sec.ofState would send the best message to the world... the USA has gotten over it's misogynistic "city on a hill" mentality but has decided to put the racism question to sleep... which it sort of has headed that way but Dr.Rice as President would fill our country with a joy and relief.
Either way, I'll be glad.
