It has been my priveledge to teach and lecture in the PRC. What I spent many hours on with my students was learning the concept of the "human race," We are the only race of humans. No one is yellow, or black or ...ok I am really really pale but won't be white until I'm dead. So why insite hatred with psuedo racist psuedo facts? You are a foolish person if you think anyone takes you seriously. (Unless you are a serial killer loyal dub and you are looking for negativity and rejection in order to get off).

Apostasy - A Racist Movement?
by slimboyfat infirpo carr argues that while many white apostates claim to highlight so-called 'racist' remarks and terminology in the watchtower literature, most such apostates are in fact white and have little real interest in black issues.
they are only interested in the issue in so far as they can use it to promote white anti-witness propaganda, whereas a high percentage of loyal witnesses are black.
i know that all the terms of my topic are debatable: apostacy is a witness term of derogation; apostates probably are mostly liberal and not racist (essentially); and they are not a 'movement' in any case.

When j.w.'s testify in court, who's Bible do they swear on?
by hubert inlet's say, in a child custody case, or something of that nature.. do they ask for the nwt?.
if they use the standard bible, because it's not the one they believe in, does that give them reason to lie in court?
(in their own minds).. hubert

I will never forget saying to a frind in my chemistry class "Well evolution is just a theory." She said "Every bit of science is theory, thats so new information can be added." Hey that made sense ... and all of a sudden I realized yet one more smearing of truth. I really wanted out then.
Now it's laughable "The Sun is the largest star orbiting the universe." But there are still so many organisations which promote psuedo science. Like saying that creationism and evolution are just two different ideas...Hell o...NO. The one has physical evidence and the other has uneducated morons spouting feel good Jesus stuff...yikes.

Sapien, I am so looking forward to the Ancestors Tale. Written in the descending rather than ascending timeline. And for lovers of G.Orwell try Orwell's Notes On Nationalism from May 1945.
Here's an excerpt:
"The majority of pacifists either belong to obscure religious sects or are simply humanitarians who object to taking life and prefer not to follow their thoughts beyond that point. But there is a minority of intellectual pacifists, whose real though unacknowledged motive appears to be hatred of Western democracy and admiration for totalitarianism. Pacifist propaganda usually boils down to saying that one side is as bad as the other, but if one looks closely at the writing of the younger intellectual pacifists, one finds that they do not by any means express impartial disapproval but are directed almost entirely against Britain and the United States ..."
WOW That was Orwell in 1945 ... and look how much the world hasn't changed in 60 years.

I haven't seen any ghost. However I have had a recent experience which helped me to understand why people "see" ghosts. Last November my llama JR died. I literally howled at this loss. I was unconsolable. I cried even when I had run out of tears. That power of pain and loss is heart rending.
For a few days after JR's death; when I turned into our drive I saw him. And I mean really fully there not some misty image but the real thing. I saw him waiting for me at the back door or running from the pasture. All of the things he would do in life. The images didn't last long. But they were there. And I realise that my love for JR and my mind not fully "getting it." Well so he was all the places he would normally be when I got home. I expected to see him, and so I did. This experiences proved to me that our minds are powerful tricksters... well that or maybe it's how we cope with loss. If we are emotionally wrapped up enough our minds have a way of holding on.
The real evil is all about human beings. I have an evil brother and I keep wanting my mind to will him gone. But that doesn't always work.

In my hippy days I also wore imaginative clothing and vintage stuff... the sisters "helped" me to wear some but ugly polyester spongey dresses that their daughters didn't wear anymore... That was 1978. That stuff was hideous I think I'm having a shiver up the back attack...

Are you an Irritating Bastard?
by gumby inhow many of you ex witnesses out there became irritating bastards to family and friends when you left the organisation?
did you push your believing mate right out the door with your verbal assaults?
did you send out a long letter to all of your witness family and friends telling them what a lying cult the watchtower organisation is?

Actually Gumb-ee I'm sitting up with my dog who I recently had a part of his unmentionables shaved because he was so matted (he has long fur) Anyway I feel awful because he has razor burn so I keep putting benedryl on him and he licks it off. He tries to escape outdoors but comes back in to the a/c... and over and over. I'm thinking should I give him aspirin? Probably not... With my dogs I'm not a bitch. heh heh heh edited to add: I'm going to bed now (yawn)

Tertiary education
by Spanners inhi, my sister is a jw and last year was her final year of secondary school (17/18 years old over here), she received the prize for best student overall in the whole school.
she's always wanted to go to university and become a lawyer and now since becoming a jw has changed her mind and is working in a restaurant clearing tables.
which is a bit of a joke, because she'll end up stuck in that job for the next 30 years.. she doesnt want to go to university because "armageddon is coming soon so theres no point".

Well of course the WBTS hates higher education! Gosh you might learn something, especially in those science classes oh hey and what about those liberal arts classes.
I started college at 38 and boy do I ever wish I'd gone sooner. College wasn't the only thing that opened my eyes. I learned to use the internet and computers and met smart people to get to know.
Any who ... the society actually pays for law school for some dubs so yeah they need lawyers... I knew a sister who went to RN school and went to Bethel as a nurse. I don't know if she's still there but many others used her as an example.

Gumbunnie, Since brooms emit no noxious toxins I don't see why anyone would object to broom riders riding brooms. Mr.Panda likes broom rides. I guess you just aren't environmentally friendly. You'll catch up with evolution real soon Gummy Bunnie, real soon.
