  god created apes, a two legged mammal that can looks, thinks, communicates, shows emotion, and almost walks like a human.

  and we're supposed to believe they're not distant cousins?

  is this god's idea of a sick joke?

  Jessica Lynch Book Trouble

  has anyone seen the news about jessica lynch's book (which isn't even written yet).

  on the news last night the father of one of lynch's company of soldiers was on tv stating that since his son was part of her experience that she should share the profits from her book.

  his son was killed in that battle in iraq.

  Thank you so much everyone for your links and pastes. I have to again thank our military guy YERU and of course AlanF. I have learned so much more about the incident with all of this extra stuff to read. Stacy you are very wise for such a young person. And I think that there is no need for JL to share $$$ with anyone. I suppose if someone wants to think the worst of the Pentagon then there's nothing I will say that'll change their mind.

  I'm certain from reports that no one knew if the fedayeen was coming back. And remember hospitals were used for more than the medical purpose ... remember some hospitals were used for ammunition storage, so it is likely that a hospital would be used as a holding area for prisoners because maybe it was also a base of operations for the Iraqi Military. Kinda' like "we'll reconnoiter at the hospital, collect some guns and ammo then go out to shoot somemore "lost" Americans.

  For me a story about an American woman in this war will be on my reading list. You can be sure my girl scouts will be reading it too. How exciting for them to see a military career as a possibility for their future.

  Please Hug that woman of yours and tell her we're all proud of her. I have a question, do you really think her sister will tell anyone outside the family? I've often seen family members keep this stuff to themselves until they can bring her to her "senses."

  Also I think Nosferatu hit both nails on the head --- BAM *!*!*!* Why does this make me ill, I hate what that religion does to families and friendships....

  Yeru: Thank you for your excellent comments. I appreciate someone from an actual military background replying with what they know is so.

  I find it hard to accept that Simon has these derogatory ideas about the US. I have never been in a battle or military. I think my very first real clue about battle was in a film (yes a movie w/ real blanks) Saving Private Ryan. The WWII vets who I spoke to all said that the beginning of that movie was exactly what they went through. There was no knowing exactly what the enemy would do.

  Simon is so ready to accept the Guardian maybe he'd like to read some Right wing wacko stuff to agree w/ too. The same boogey man in the Pentegon at both extremes of politicos.

  i've really been struggling over the past few months.

  when craig and i got married, i didn't invite my dad to my wedding.

  six weeks later he takes his life.

  Tink4, That wonderful caring heart of your is reaching out to get some help from us. I think that some counseling would be good. Or some support group. My husband 's very close friend killed himself w/ a shotgun. I felt guilty because I should've invited him over more often. But then he never came when we did invite him. His loneliness was a compounded problem of illness and girlfriend trouble. Gosh I still feel bad and I hardly knew him!

  I think it's good for you to tell us. And also I think with relating the story and time will eventually ease your pain.

  Hamas, He'd have to look more like Lucy from the Ulduvai gorge in Africa. So god would be about 4 ft tall, tan and muscular ... but he wouldn't be able to talk.

  HEY, if god couldn't talk then who wrote dictated the B******Oh no

  God would never have worn shoes, which does explain many god traditions like the one at the burning bush. "Remove those damn sandals" Hey, here is another problem who spoke to Moses at the burning bush?

  And being very hairy like Lucy he'd have some vermin trouble, which explains all that washing up at temples, and later the whole water baptism by his modern homo- sapien sapien son.
  I wonder how come Satan could talk, and a snake and an ass could talk ,but as we see from gods image ---he couldn't.

  But it's so sad to think he wouldn't be able to sing Kingdom Melodies.Of course since those are sung to god he wouldn't want to sing them AND HEY Lucy did have big ears to hear with!!! My head is spinnin'

  Willyloman: I'm not so sure that the experience was as banal as you describe. My only reference was a commander I met from Gulf War I. She was helping with our women in history presentation at UTSA. She was ar Randolf AFB. In the gulf war she was shot down. when she was rescued she was naked except for remnants of her tattered flight suit. both her arms and legs had been broken ---not from her crash. Afterwards we got to talk a bit. I looked her straight in the eyes and we both started to tear up. I said "there was much more done to you wasn't there. We both had tears rolling down our faces. I told her I didn't need to know. But she told me some things. It was so awful. Getting beat up while all your limbs are broken and twisted. She was so brave to continue on her career when she now knew what the possibilities felt like. So I don't think Jessica Lynch had it so easy as some say. I don't think she felt safe until those heros came and rescued her. But I'll have to wait to read her story. Thanks for your thoughts.

  Euph and Max: I see you both mentioned the idea of some future contribution for her slain comrades. Don't you think that her life is in such turmoil now that she won't even think straight until this book thing is done? Do we see Spielberg directing? Thanks for posting.
