Hi everyone. It's almost 2 months since Nick died. I miss him much more, not less. Last week I had our dog Chloe euthanised. I think I kept putting it off because I wanted her alive. She'd been blind for awhile which didn't seems to bother her much except if she got confused about where she was. I made the mistake of moving her water bowl over a few feet and she tripped and knocked it over and got more confused. So I kept everything as it was. The day before I took her to the Vet I had given her a bath. Her back hips have been troubling her for about a year but lately I've had to help her stand. Well after her bath she couldn't stand at all. I rolled her onto a sheet and dragged her close to the back door from the dog pen. It got dark so I stayed outside with her to make sure she had some water and tried to get up a few times. I was concerned about the coyotes who would easily sense her helplessness and kill her. So I just sat talking to her. In the morning I called the Vet; took her out there; pet her and hugged her, told her what a good dog she had always been; that I loved her. I cried and cried. I think I cried for Chloe and Nick and all the people I've loved who are dead.

Muslims demonstrate that they are not violent by firebombing churches
by Elsewhere inas i said in another post: actions speak louder than words.
muslims were angered by the pope's quoting a 14th century writer who said that muslims are violent in nature.. in order to disprove this statement many muslims took too the streets shouting violent slogans and burned an effigy of the pope.
still more muslims demonstrated that they are not violent by firebombing random churches.. yup... actions speak louder than words.

It's religion, of course which foments this violence. Your god is the only one, your prophet the truest, so naturally everyone else is scum. Every religion has bias' towards it's adherents. And BTW the Mohammedans won the Crusades! Sheesh. The royals of Europe lost kingdoms, money, power etc until Isabella and Ferdinand took Iberia back from the Mohammedans. Then they had money to fund people like Columbus; who found new people to subjugate. Always looking for gold ... how patriarchal can you get? And BTW Mohammedans hate being called Mohammedans; this puts them in the same boat as Christians ie., bearing the name of the actual prophet and that is against their religion.
Oh and the guy with the sports car photo (sorry I didn't catch your name) Have you noticed any American girls getting murdered for dating a boy of another faith, political group etc? No. Take a history class and then come back with some wry yet informed commentary.

I'd get one of those check cashing kiosks. Park it where all the friday pay people pass by. That way you'd never forget what paycheck to paycheck is like; and if you get robbed it's no big deal you'd have the $$/insurance to cover your ass.

Thanks everyone for the condolences and love. If I can figure out how to put photo up here its of Nick's March 30th b'day. Anyway, this is the most horrid emptiness which seems endless. Life certainly feels worthless w/o Nick. So my advice is to hold onto one another, an always say "I love you"
Thank you so much, Panda

OKAY so the 3 digit temps are here and I'll be spending loads of time indoors because of my chronic urticaria. So since I've been into various artsy-craftsy stuff I've found this really cool way to swap art with other would be artists. So have you heard of ATC swaps? It's so cool. I even swap with people in the Netherlands, the UK, Canada (I guess thats technically the UK), Australia, New Zealand and of course here in the states. I've met some interesting people. Some eccentric (the way I like 'em) and some really good artists. I mainly do rubber stamping collaged with ephemera and also acrylic painting combined with computer art. Well , I'll still spend tons of time reading and taking care of critters.
So give this a try. ATC's are to be traded not sold. They are the size of playing cards 2 1/2" X 3 1/2". In fact you could even use playing cards by simply sanding the number side and putting your work on the new surface. Anyway there are tons of places to trade online and at art shows.
Enjoy this during the summer and don't think about the fact that you work all day to pay for AC all night.

Else, I feel for you. The last few days we've been into the hundreds (imagine we're several hundred miles south of you and towards CC). A few years ago we were paying $600-$650 a month in the summer June July August AND September. Actually we have summer until the beginning of November --- last year we couldn't even wear fabulous Halloween costumes because it was so frickin hot. We decided to get our entire system updated, new everything don't even ask the price BUT now even in t the hottest part of the summer we pay $300 or LESS. Also since we live in the outback (funny but true) our service is a co-op which has no intention of joining the big boys, because every year we get $$$ for belonging to the co-op. We can even invest our profits into new areas of energy production. Wind farms and solar are the future for south south Texas.
If I were you I'd put in a new filter, ask the management if your system has been charged this year. This is important because w/o freon it won't cool and yet still eat up the electric. The coils could easily freeze if the unit isn't meeting cooling requirements. If this happens you'll need to set your AC fan to ON so the the freeze on the coils can melt.
In Texas it is illegal for management NOT to service your AC. Call your electric company and ask them for an evaluation. It's free and should be helpful for the management to see them going into your unit.

The Bible is a great source of anthropological information about early civilizations in the Middle East; especially the cultures around Iraq and Iran and Syria. It has an interesting way of describing the stories which were handed down about the change between nomadic herdsmen and cultivating farmers (and remember god didn't favor those farmers). So the beginning is very slanted towards nomads. I could go on and on. Mainly I think I appreciate the Bible more for what it really is rather than what people purport it to be.

What do you think the Watchtower is most afraid of?
by JH inlawsuits?
internet?
higher education?.
-
Panda
If they are true believers they're probably afraid of the big A (Armeggedon; )
also what if's: whatif they're goats not sheep; or what if god really does know their thoughts? what if everything/anything happens because if they truly believe then they have everything to worry about.
However if we're talking about the control freaks --- the money river becoming a muddy river and finally drying up.
