Lordy, Else, that just hurts. My stupid townhouse is all electric and my monthly averaged bill is $187as of the first of the year (up $30/month from last years budget). I may be doing without airconditioning this year.
Dave, what company do you use?
I'm afraid of that little white envelope with blue letters. Very, very afraid. Else, I feel your pain man!

My bill comes every 2 months, and averages about $180. Last year my highest bill was $455 for 2 months. I think I'm going to pass on the air conditioning this year and just sleep in the basement.

Right now I'm with Reliant.
I pay $550 for the whole year, and it gets cold up here in the winter, and sometimes we need AC in the summer time.
We are on the "equal billing" plan-so it the same amount every month of the year.
Once a year they re-evaluate your annual usage and adjust the equal billing payments based on that to the following year-it's great-then there are no surprises!!!!!
We have that option too w/averaging your bill.
Why/how (sputter, spit) the reason for your utility bill to be so low JH???? What kind of heating do you have? And where does your electric come from?
Just nosy.........Juni
