Mary, do you feel it's okay or justified to come back and fire a bullet towards an abusive husband and a child of 9 and 13, when she could have just gotten in her car and drove off and called the police?

So here is question. If Obama can accept the verdict of the 6 women jury panel why can't you guys?

Obama just spoke about the verdict.
"The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America. I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin."
I thought this was a dignified response to all division this case has caused.

I think the only common lesson and link between the two cases is don't go back for an attack because you won't have any legal ground to stand on, and attacking people is proabably something you should avoid doing.

George Zimmerman followed an unarmed teenager and ends up killing him because he felt his life was in danger.
That is a complete and utter lie. TM attacked period.

Mary, with a due respect I think you're making a poor comparison here, there is some particulars in this case that really made the stand your ground not apply.
According to the Guardian:
At some point during the altercation, Alexander went into the garage. She claims she could not flee because the garage door was not working and she did not have the keys to her car. Alexander grabbed her handgun from inside the glove compartment and went back into the house. She fired a single shot at Gray, who was standing in the living room with his sons, ages nine and 13. The shot missed.

She "went back" and shot towards her husband and his thirteen year old sons. The two cases are completely different.

I Am Tired Of Hearing People Becoming So Racially Divisive!
by minimus intrayvon/zimmerman....it's all about race....that's what some people keep saying.
you criticize the president, and you are against blacks.
you talk about illegal aliens and you hate mexicans.

He did. He should not have been commenting on an ongoing investigation. It was a cynical use of race for political gain.
Yes our president doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes does he? After foolishly inserting himself in the middle of the Cambridge Gates affair and having that completely blow up in his face, you think he would not want a repeat of that. Yet, he once again he diminishes the reputation of the office, and inserts himself where he shouldn't -- into an ongoing investigaton. I don't think a beer summit is going to work this time.

At least some can seperate this travesty from the right to bear arms.
And thankfully the jury was able to separate facts, from the blathering stream of crap that the left threw at this case in an attempt to exploit the worst in people and score cheap polictal points. If they were so concerned they should have started in Chicago where young black men in their prime are being gunned down daily, not podunk FL.

If people have a problem with that then they should work to change the laws, not bleat on and on about a verdict they disagree with by making up evidence that doesn't exist or claiming bogus scenarios as reality.
Bingo.

Please, do tell me how the VRA and DOMA, despite being law, haven't just been declared wrong.
Oh, wait, silly me. Law doesn't necessarily = right, or even lawful. Remind me again, were you trying to make a point? It seemed like you were and then it just sort of evaporated for you.
Talking in circles doesn't really suit you so well.
