Absurd WT Control in April 2012 KM
by LostGeneration inyeah in the section on attending the convention, you will find this gem:.
"therefore, we should give attention to our dress and grooming while in the convention city, including when we check in at the hotel.
arriving in shorts and a t-shirt would not reflect dignity.".

JWN website time for a re-write
by tootired2care ini don't want to sound ungrateful, but is there any plans to update this site?
it really needs it given all the traffic on it; who is in charge of running the site?.

This Year's Memorial the Shortest Ever
by compound complex inthe memorial last thursday night was, to my recollection, the shortest i've ever attended.
thirty-five minutes.
it was truly a cliff notes version.

I think it's because it's a reminder of yet another year passing and no great tribulation or armaggedon. Who would have thought we'd still be in this system of things in 2012? Many of the elders have got to be very tired and thinking in the back of their mind that they were sold a bill of goods by the WTS at this point, and thus the looks of contempt.

The brother that spoke at ours just seemed to drag on and on, by far the most boring memorial talk i've ever heard. I had to stand the whole time because I had to give up my seat and it seemed like forever, it was torture. I noticed the looks of contempt on some of the elders faces as they gave the special annoucement and read the letter. I have to agree with you the mood was very different from past years, I think the WTS is on the precipice of a mass walk out.

Here's some really good news about the future
by Star tiger induring my recent reading, into all subjects verboten to the witnesses, i have almost finished reading the singularity is near by ray kurzweil, regarding all the great things that are awaiting huminity in the near to medium term future about the technologies that will transform our lives as humans, with the advent of nano technology and biological enhancements to our physical bodies.. i would rather put my faith in science than antiquated religious beliefs, at least there are no preconditions, and every should be able to reap the rewards!.
as a faith in gods always means someone has to die or suffer, let's have science all the way!.
it's a pity people still want to beleive in a supernatural rescue for the challenges that beset mankind.. let's do away with all religion, as it has caused more problems than it has solved.. regards,.

That sounds like a great book i'll have to check that out. I agree with your views about religion too. Have you gone on youtube and watched some the Hitchins debates? He articulated things so well, I especially liked the intelligence squared debate with the Catholic church. It's good stuff and very entertaining too.

what trustworthy person would listen and accept this blatent nonsense for 20 years?.

I knew this was all Bush's fault
if we all agree that GW took us into a disastrous illegal war and the economy tanked on his watch
Agreed, he was the leader and he should take full responsibility for that.
Can we also agree that the disasterous war, bad economy and spurious economic fixes that failed in the long run probably would't have happened if the twin towers were never destroyed?

Well this is old news that remarkably was discussed to ad nauseam before you got here, about four years ago.
Perhaps you should tell that to rev. Wright; who has just re-inserted himself into the political discussion with a fresh attack which is what spawned this thread in the first place. Sorry divorces are messy and Obama cannot divorce Wright as easy as the liberal media, and re-election team would like.
