  No, As I've stated in other threads I don't deny that the climate does change or is changing. It has always changed. The universe is constantly changing. Change will always be a constant. 125K years ago before any industrial revolution much of the ice melted at the poles -- ice core samples show this. I think what I disagree on is the idea that we should regress as a society. I believe we should accelerate advance so that we are better able to deal with the many problems that face our planet besides just the climate changing. We need to accept the reality that things change even without any influence from us and we have no choice but to adapt.

  The article makes clear most of his wealth is from Current TV and Apple.

  It also makes clear that his 'green' investments have flopped big time.

  Fair enough, but the intent was there to profit off of a false carbon credit scam which in no way decreases co2 or helps the problem at all.

  This sideshow about Al Gore is a tedious smokescreen.

  A tedious smokescreen for what exactly? If anything it's a sterling example of liberal hypocrisy, and phony green at its finest. Preach asceticism for everyone else, while doing the exact opposite for yourself. Good leaders lead by example not hypocrisy.

  It's very difficult to trust this good ol' boy hypocrite P.O.S. scumbag when he has 200 million in the bank in large part because of his carbon credit money scam which doesn't help the problem whatsoever. I view everything he says false, and the green movement needs to ditch this fool because many will never trust a thing he says either he is the biggest impediment to the whole movement IMHO. It's ironic how liberals don't attack his wealth like they did Romney's.

  Great questions, I also did some shorting in 08 with QQQQ, FAZ and a few others. I remember once in 08 I bought into SDS and made a 3.5K profit in one day. I've never been able to repeat that kind of a one day gain again though. I must say you're quite brave for shorting with the FED pump going, but I have recently thought about shorting again too. What 3x fund are you using?

  Are Western values compatible with Christian values?

  i was going to say judaism, christianity, and islam but since i know little of judaism and islam so i decided to stick primarily with christianity.

  i have found myself thinking that the values preached in the bible are not compatible with western (ie american) values.

  however, it all seems to depend on who you really talk to and what he or she believes.. for example, the jehovah's witnesses preach a lot about how women are suppose to be submissive to men and yet at the same time preach how this does not mean that women are suppose to be seen as inferior to men.

  I was watching this fascinating video by a Yale professor of philosophy, and he makes some powerful points that much of the bible like the Adam and Eve account was added to the bible in the year 400 by Augustine, and that some Christian ideals and many western values are a product of the much older teachings of Plato and Aristotle and have that in common.
